We are about a month in here. I know we have members here that know him. The silence speaks volumes. It is very unfortunate.
I recommend we all stop with the F and F shit. There are a few of us left that are bulletproof, but it is getting harder and harder to trust even longtime trustworthy guys for some reason

For a sale of certain amounts I never understood not using Goods and Services. Sellers should just calculate the 3-4% into the sale price and everybody gets protection. There will always be a couple of folks you’ll feel comfortable doing F&F with but everyone can be cool when life is not applying pressure.

Tax purposes. In IL I get a 1099K if I sell anything over $1,000. I don't want to deal with that anymore.i stopped accepting regular PayPal a few years ago and I've still sold a lot.

Yeah there's a bunch of people here I wouldn't hesitate to use f&f with, but I've done many deals with them before

It happened to me once years ago to get burned out of $300 because I did F&F (never again). I tried to chargeback with the credit card but after that Paypal immediateley contacted me and threatened to ban me for life if I tried to chargeback a F&F payment. I choose to keep Paypal because of convenience and cut my losses. At the time, there were much less means of online payment. Maybe I'll do differently today.

I agree. There are occasions where I'd do FF (smaller sales) and a handful of folks I'd do FF with (buds I talk and text with, have visited, etc) but in general it's not that much of a loss to either factor in the G&S fee to your pricing, or offer to split it with the buyer. Or just say it's extra...at least the buyer has the option.
What a lot of folks still don't realize is that 95% of the time, you are selling gear at a loss or breaking even. In these circumstances, you don't owe any tax on the sale. Only if you make a profit. Yes some states have tighter thresholds for the 1099-K but this concept still applies.
Do whatever you want, but personally I tend to dismiss ads that are strict FF.

Agreed I have done several deals on the forum with other long time members with F&F and never any issues .
Unless something terrible happened to him like a hospital stay due to medical issues or some other life threating issue that would keep him from responding like I don't know jail or he passed away ??? There is no excuse for this then.

The last time his account registered an IP address was Oct 10th. The non-VPN location of the service provider was the same as it's always been, in NC, so I don't suspect foul play.
The last time he posted was Sep 30th.
I can't tell what he did on Oct 10th other than log in.

The only thing that is strange about this is that he issued a refund and blocked it. That doesn't track with trying to just steal someone's money. I would love to find out what the hell happened. It doesnt matter if a buyer is an asshole, I am not taking his money, but I would refund it so i didnt have to deal with bs.
