Custom Pedal Board Maintenance Day

One or two of the Scotch-Lock strips on the expression pedals pulled lose from the pedal board years ago. These days, I play in Madison Spare Bedroom, so it was far from a big deal. I’ve been on a clean and purge bend, and I’m OCD 😀, so when I cleaned the board, I was forced to fix shit. Those are the rules…

Since I had to do it. You get to see pictures you may have already seen 😆

... or I could've suggested that James Tyler headstock-font stickers would look awesome stuck randomly to the board. :dunno:

So, the pedal board for the analog rig (toobz) was looking dusty and a little sketchy next to the newly cleaned pedal board for the digital rig. OCD said I had to clean it. Since I cleaned it, you have to look at it 😆

I actually look forward to Pedal Board Maintenance Day once annually

Also, I appreciate the fact that you cleaned up your gear and your area before posting

So pardon my ignorance but the Fractal stuff is digital correct? When you run the FX9 into Friedman are you using it for the effects only or is there more going on? Have you ever ran the 2 rigs together at the same time? Is it possible to run 1 AXFX into both rigs at the same time?

To answer the last part, it is possible to have 1 Axe FX feed multiple outputs. It has 4 separate outputs. The routing flexibility is pretty impressive.

I really need to mount my FC12 and other pedals to a board.

The FX8 is a multi-effect unit (it’s not a modeler) and I use it in 4CM mode with the Friedman. The pedal board has some extra gear to enable MIDI switching, if needed (I originally had it built to support an AX8…) and one of the switches on the box on the bottom right duplicates the stock foot switch and allows me to switch channels on the amp.

I have never played with them together. The Axe III is newer and has better effects, but the FX8 is great and I haven’t felt the need to swap it. The input and output options for both units are ridiculous…
