How easy is it to play a Flying V sitting down? I've got a Jackson RR and I don't like playing it sitting because it has terrible neck dive.
I also live in the classical world where using a footrest or a guitar support is very common. I just ordered one of these and will report back on its usability.
I have that same Rhoads

Everything but a rhoads style is great if you like classical style, I find Vs to be the most comfortable guitars to play sitting because of the neck position you get.

Nice! I just grabbed that pic from a review that someone left to show how it works on a V.

Planet Tone pickups are having a 25% off sale:

That makes a lot of their pickups around $55 and many people in the comments at the site say they vastly prefer these over their SD and DiMarzios (including myself).

I've owned both the Charvel offset V and the Gibson symmetrical V. Both are surpisingly comfortable. You can easily balance the neck with a little bit of inside leg on the lower and forearm on the upper.

To me, the Gibson V is more stable than a LP when sitting. The weight of the LP helps, but it can slip with certain materials. The symmetrical V locks in.

That is exactly what I was thinking when I've seen people sitting with them. I always play classical style these days and have tried to go back to the other style but it just doesn't feel right to me. Classical is more natural and more like the way the guitar hangs when standing. Having it on my right leg feels like I'm twisted.

I saw an interview with Schenker where he explained how he can solo with it standing and squeeze it with his legs and it stays in place.

I may have to get one of these.

I love Explorers too but the first fret is far away when sitting classical style

Which do you prefer between the Charvel and Gibson? I think the Rhoads looks the coolest but I wish I wouldn't have gotten it. It does have one of the best shapes I've ever played.

If anyone is interested in Hughes & Kettner stuff, Thomann is tough to beat. I was looking for the AmpMan classic and modern:

https://www.thomannmusic.com/hugheskettner_spirit_ampman_classic.htm?type=manufacturer

They are $145 each. I ordered both of them for $290; shipping was $52, and tariffs + UPS fees were $124.

$466 for both, shipped to the door. New ones here are $469 each. Basically, get them 2-for-1.

What surprised me was how fast the process took compared to the first time I ordered from them. There was a delay when customs sent me a form to fill out detailing the metal contents of the shipment. I just put "NA" everywhere, sent it back, and they accepted it. Once I pulled the trigger, the whole thing took about a week.

They aint getting any cheaper and great sale..... Check it out and have a store Price Match or get the few they have left While they have them.

Wonder why they don't have any 61's? Are the SG Standard necks as fat as the LP?
I can’t say off hand. If you look through the listings, most of them have the neck sizes listed, specific to each guitar.
