So if i play a 50 dollar Hondo guitar that i bought in Walmart and plug it into a Crate solid state amp and scoop the mids, will it be the tone of my dreams as long as i have the crystal meth frets?

Looking forward to seeing how many lawyers on TGP get this done to their trophy guitars so they can finally nail that Robben Ford tone they've been chasing.

why do you have to go to TGP for that? Plenty of people on here with lots of dough to blow as well..lol....I don't think you'd have to leave the comfort of RT to see it happen!

True, there's plenty of people here crying about the economy but i still see CCV's and VH4's selling for 3k or 4k.

and let's not forget the boutique pick and pickup market..lol
...your forgetting the Boutique silk cloth used to wipe down the guitar after playing.
Nothing says "The finer things in life" then that.
I tried to develop the Crystal Polishing Cloth but got less than desirable results (Anybody wanna buy a relic'd Les Paul?)

Think we have a Marketing GIANT here.....

your Diamond Frets.....buy them and get a Silk Polish cloth free.
(we will just build in the price of the Silk cloth into the Diamond frets to make people think that it will be free)

Crystal Frets, titanium strings, and a Flux Capacitor Delay rack will be in my rig by 2012

Neat Idea.. I remember when I was a teenager I thought glass would be a good fret.. but then considered the fragile nature and scrapped it. Looking at the waveform comparison on the website it looks like they both have the same amplitude but the crystal fret is more even. No doubt if this caught on it would be the same as the analog/digital debate imo.

The pricing on the quartz is wild though.. he's in gold country which is also quartz country.. it's all over the place!!

What about charcoal frets? They set fire to your playing and set the stage on fire! The only drawback is you need a refret about 30 minutes of playing, and you need to carry a fire exstingquisher

Dung frets would be great. When someone says "you played like shit tonight" you can say Nah, it's the frets.

SEVEN GRAND???
some douche with too much money

You can never be too rich or too thin.

At that price they should at least be compensated frets.

I might buy a guitar that already had them, but I doubt I'd refret with them. Simply because I would like to hear/feel the results before I committed to them.

tell that to Karen Carpenter

"at that price" they shouldn't even be on the market =D

Ouch! ;) I knew that was coming.

These frets might be snake oil and tone snobbery, but why is it always if you can afford it you must be a douche?

cause douchey people buy stuff like crystal frets!

jk

Ah, so the subjectivity of how people spend their own $ is at question. I'm sure I could throw a few douche comments about how people spend there $ at the Dollar Store as well.

I'm not saying I buy into the hype, but I'm not going to dismiss it before I've even tried it just because of cost. Lots of great music has been made without these, but lots of people use to get around without nav systems too. Not really understanding the resistance before anyone has even heard them?

Rejection before inspection is pretty much the norm don't you think? And the excessive price tag just makes it that much easier. Personally, I couldn't justify a fret job that's worth more than my amp, cab, pedalboard & guitar combined! I just think it's funny to see what kind of "must have" fairy dust surfaces at NAMM every year!

Half of you will have them..I get the elitist vibe on here sometimes. I know low class..or middle class because I'm there and some of you guys on here are elitist douches. Just saying.

I hear ya. I would be surprised if anyone here ever tries them let alone gets them. But everyone will have an opinion. ;)

As soon as I get my butler to grab me a towel, I'm getting out of this hottub and formulating a proper response.
