I'm fucking OLD (my Les Paul is heavy)

I can see how that can weigh on you…corny but couldn’t resist.
I can relate. If I played hours like that, especially practice, I’d bring the lightest I could. But I understand the LP love.

I picked up a really soft 3" Perri's strap, but I'm not convinced I'm bringing the LP to practice this week. But I am excited to see how this strap does with the weight of the LP.

I have a '91 studio that weighs in at 10.4#. Wide strap definitely helps with this workhorse guitar. Have 3 other LP's 9-9.4# and can definitely feel the difference.

It doesn't matter the strap just don't be a pussy. It takes a man to play a LP.

Ive had back pains all my life. Sometimes i have to finish practice or a gig in a chair.

Main reason why i cant gig my glorious tone machine, 78 Ibby artist 2617 all night at almost 11 pounds

I usually gig my semi hollow tele or 335

Now that ain't workin', that's the way you do it
Lemme tell ya, them guys ain't dumb
Maybe get a blister on your little finger
Maybe get a blister on your thumb

I just got one of those "Zero G" straps you see all over Facebook. I'm going to try it soon with my Les Pauls. I'll report back if I can remember.
@phillybhatesme Reporting back! I used the big 3” wide Zero G strap for the first time at a gig last night. I was playing bass.

I didn’t notice anything special about the strap. It didn’t make my bass feel lighter. Don’t fall for the fake marketing hype.

Bummer.

I’ve never enjoyed LP as much as I do now. Love it. And prefer the tone of the ones around 4,5 kg. And I think up to around 7 now

Try a chambered LP. Nobody at the gig will be able to hear or care about the difference in sound but they weigh around 7.5-8lbs

Thanks for the info. I’ve been using my 3” leather strap for the past few weeks and it’s been really good.
I definitely need to get some more 3” straps for other guitars too.
