Custom Guitar wait times, anticipation, psychology.

The waiting can be a bitch . I 've ordered 3 Carvin's , but the wait was 6-8 weeks not months . I've been gassing for a Tom Anderson lately , I know the wait will be longer for those .

I can barely stand to wait for in stock items to ship.....nevermind a custom instrument with a build time. LOL

I dont mind 6 to 8 months wait times but its when its a 3 yr wait time like kenneth lawrence that is hard for me, his guitars are definately worth the wait but im not patient enough to wait that long haha.
I have 2 of his guitars right now and wouldnt mind another but when i spoke to him a month ago he said hes not taking any orders till the first of the year, and i have a feeling its gonna still be a 3 yr wait.

Same here. I'll wait 6 or so months if it's a guitar I want badly. Any longer than that and I'm afraid my preferences may change before it arrives as they seem to do fairly often.

Last Custom Shop order I did was with Jackson USA Custom Shop. It took a little over a year. When it finally arrived I had already moved on and didn't really even want it anymore. Ended up selling it for what I paid like 3 weeks later.

I'd love to have a Ken Lawrence Explorer but no way I can handle his wait times. I really wish he could reduce those times to under a year but I doubt that will ever happen. Maybe I'll find a used KL to my liking some day that isn't insanely priced.

Love your KL's "Les Zombie". Post some pics if you don't mind. I've forgot exactly what they look like.

Thanks man, heres some pics.
The black dragon belonged to stevek and a few esp board guys owned it too, once i got it i sent it to ken and he refinished it with his oil finish.

Never had to worry about such matters, never could afford a custom guitar. It must be rough though, I can only imagine.

Or you could put aside $50/month :)

Thanks for the financial advice. I really appreciate it.

I work hard and I save hard, and then I spend hard. Not very rough if you have discipline. And you don't HAVE to ONLY imagine, you have to set yourself to something and stick with it. Anything is possible if you want it bad enough.Dont limit yourself and your abilities with this kind of self defeating language followed up by passive aggressive comment against others.

You SHOULD be saying: HOW can I afford a custom guitar?...WHAT DO I need to do to be able to afford one? What OTHER extraneous spending can I cut out to get the guitar of MY dreams?

You are a funny guy. You are like the Tony Robbins of Rig-talk. I am inspired.

Awesome man, I want YOU to also get yourself a custom guitar. Let me know how the saving is going in 6 months. I guarantee if you apply yourself you will be 1/3rd of the way to getting that guitar you want!

You are a totally out of touch turd, your band sounds like a cut rate, run of the mill Tool ripoff buttrock band and believe me, I would rip you to fucking shreds on guitar right now with a Squire strat and a 1x8 peavy amp. Your "connections" mean shit you LA douche. I have met a million of you. If your parents didn't have money you would be working at a Guitar Center still riding cock snuggling up to whatever amp maker you could just to feel "in the game".

Love them both a lot!! The Hetfield model is one of my all time favorites. Just love that chechen and finish color. Would love to have one with the sun inlay.

+1. ESP's are really killer guitars. I love and play other brands also but my ESP's are always in the mix.

Damn Reza, you bring out the passion here, lol
Your band rocks btw. I love how your own clips are brutal and vicious but then you can play within a band context that has more mass appeal.

I have a Kiesel on a 9-10 week delivery. I'm about halfway through and it is painful. I may need to acquire an EQD or something to get by, perhaps an Avalanche.
