i dont give a shit. i use whatever is on sale from MF SDOTD

a while back i stopped in the shop. Theyre near the Music Zoo so i was right there anyway

I walked in and introduced myself as a local no body hacker who uses their strings

I asked the front lady if i can take a look inside the shop.

The lady asked me to wait a few minutes. another guy came out and gave me a tour of the shop

you have no idea what goes into making strings. I was flabbergasted for a half hour just walking around with my mouth open

some of those guys and girls been there for decades. Plus it was so clean you can eat off the floor

I was very surprised at the operation. I didnt get a chance tot meet the big man himself but I saw his office

i was too embarrassed to ask for samples

Given the latest BS and the possible fake AI video promoting their strings they may have possibly made do you care...... It doesn't seem like it's been definitely proven either and in either case it doesn't affect the quality, tone and sound of said product......


But on the other hand true or not are you going to stop using them, does it matter to you and what will you use as an alternative or what do you use vs D'Addario


Honest here I don't care and I'ma keep using them. iMO great strings and great quality and that is all that matters to me but understand others who may not agree.

I rarely use them. Typically I string up with GHS or DR for some tunings, and get heavy custom sets from String Joy for really low tuned stuff from C to A std.

GHS are great too and fantastic quality. I can see why people like them tbh.

The GHS Burnished Nickel strings are my go-to. Love the sound, feel, and consistency.

I like the feel of the DR Pure Blues even more, but over the years their consistency has not been near as good. Some strings just refused to intonate, and have a weird warble to them when plucked. I will say over the past three or so years none of the sets I bought had the issue, so maybe they tightened their QC. Otoh I don't play near as much as I did then, so I go through a lot less strings.

But yeah that's cool Ive always wanted to go on a tour of a beer factory or a guitar place. I once took a tour of a Revival amps when it was in a small studio and met the amp builder/engineer. We played guitar and kicked it and cranked the shit out of the amps.



The dude was impressed with the tone I was getting too, he had a fuzz face, a vintage vox wah, an OD and that's all you needed with a vintage 73 hard tail Strat.


He gave me a good idea of what it takes, how he does it and his methodology and the basics. It was pretty cool and I think Johnny Depp and some other high profile players would use them too. Eric was cool guy and I think they changed the name to Rival amps.


He made these and they were modeled after a rare Fender amp he described as a white panel/white face. Never heard of it before but I think he meant chrome or not sure. Anyways it pretty small but it was cool to see how he did it all. Dude used to work for Satellite amps but left to start his own thing down in San Diego.
