I like Friedman's take on the Jose mod. I don't like the diode clipping, the HBE, or any of the switching options, but the stock Brown Eye circuit sounds pretty good. The Small Box is definitely more up my alley. However, at $2700 or whatever for a Plexi with an added gain stage, I'll build my own long before I'd pay that kind of money.
