Smdb, your refund was processed. Why it's taking Paypal so long to reverse it back to you is beyond me. Here's a screenshot of what it's telling me..

Seriously? As if I need to make up a story to redeem myself or give satisfaction. And then there's the fact that making up such a story would require actually caring about what you think. Haha, now that's a good one! Anyway, to even fathom the idea that someone would make up such a thing, it seems you're quite familiar with elaborate story fabrication, so when I need to lower myself down to that, may I call on you for advice? In the meantime I'll take the high-road because karma has a divine plan for your sad & lonely life and that's good enough for me.MOAAH":3itd7pcl said:..I'm surprized everyone seems to equate some sick father story as fact or as an excuse to prolong this ordeal so long. Funny you quoted what I said but you only focus on the part that is objectional to you.Klark":7eqnbs05 said:Seriously? Exactly.mystixboi":qm9zf7dp said:MOAAH":qm9zf7dp said:Now we have the other side of the story.Klark":qm9zf7dp said:I usually make it a rule to avoid selling things during the summer because it's the busy season and myself and my crew just don't have time. I thought I would have more time last week but with my father having a tumor removed up at Mayo clinic and work just blowing up within a couple days, I grossly under estimated what we would have time to manage. I broke my own rule so I'm very sorry for that.
However, I will NOT apologize for putting my family, my life, my business, and my clients first and foremost BEFORE any purely secondary guitar toy sales on the internet. I stand here publicly and state if you don't like my position on this then don't buy from me.
Just a little advice; If you need a piece of gear to make a show happen, but you're willing to purchase it from an individual, it's not that difficult to state "Hey, I absolutely must have this by Friday..." If that individual can't make your deadline, then buy it from Muscian's Friend. Oh wait, I forgot, even they don't guarantee a ship date or an arrival date. Why? Because shit happens. If Musician's Friend screwed up your show, guess what you'd get? Maybe the shipping price refunded.
I've sold thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff on here and never had a nasty deal. I'll admit there's been a couple slow deals due to my schedule but even then I've always offered to refund shipping, ship overnight at MY cost, or whatever necessary to make it right with the buyer. Until now, I cannot remember a single deal where the buyer started swearing and name calling within the first few messages..
I am retained by a number of my clients, so when an event wasn't going as planned there was nothing I could do to leave for home. I apologized to smdb a couple of times, but it didn't matter because he already made up his mind. He can obviously dish out attitude but clearly doesn't know how to cope when it comes right back. The immediate turning point for me was the fact that after he read that I was a couple days behind, he could have asked me to ship it overnight, which I would have gladly paid for so he would have it for his show on Saturday. But instead he chose to go ape shit first and ask for his money back. Rcm, moaah, rlord, ultron, and probably a few others had NO problem noticing what I noticed - A buyer that's rude, impatient, and the list goes on. It's no different than standing in line at the bank or boarding a plane, once the swearing & name calling starts, good luck getting anything except being handed your hat.
Even after all the unnecessary drama I have no problem publicly apologizing because, well, I'm a big boy and accept that shit happens. As I informed you already, Paypal doesn't work from my phone, so I instructed my shop guy to log in and refund your money. I'm sorry the deal didn't go as well as we had hoped and I wish you luck with finding another piece.
Klark, no one knows better than me as to how dealing on line can get outta hand real fast, one reason why I refuse to do it ever again.
BUT, when you say, "I am retained by a number of my clients" you seem to forget that at that moment he was your client too, if even for just one sale, however small.
Also, it was your duty to contact him and explain why you were late, but he had to contact you, not good.
Lastly, yeah he seems to have exploded but you returned it in kind. It is always best to retain the high ground, no matter what an AH some folks can be. Like what may seem like a toy to you ain't no toy to him. And ~300 may not seem much to some but to others it's a big deal.
I'm glad you posted and even more glad you're going to refund his money. Live and learn man, live and learn.
I agree with this post... both sides could have handled the communication better... that's the bottom line.
I guess I can accept your obvious spelling and grammar deficiency, but it's hard to accept your lack of reading skills & comprehension. I never once mentioned anything about my band or a tour, but you've said that twice now. You also said I avoided the real issue of lacking to communicate when I had already agreed to that just a few posts prior. It's also hard to accept your INability to see the difference between an excuse and an explanation. I made short and simple explanations, I admitted putting things more important (to me) first, and I apologized a few times, so get over it, it's time to move on. It was well over & done with before you proved that you have very little to do except practice your supposed craft on internet forums. Everyone is good at poking holes in things, if they desire to single themselves out as an asshole. For example; Maybe you have time right now because you're not really any good at what you claim to do? Maybe you're not working during the summer because your skills are self-proclaimed? Maybe you have time to post over 4000 posts on a guitar toy forum because no one is willing to pay you? Maybe your well known bullshit on the HC forums has carried over to rig-talk just a bit too much? Judging by the PM's I've received, maybe many here have accepted my apology and have moved on, so maybe you're the only one low enough to sit and dwell on a dead issue? Maybe you are actually really good at what you do but sometimes you just over-analyze and miss the obvious? Maybe you're just an asshole and so am I so it's end of discussion? Maybe? Yeah, maybe.MOAAH":13dd8v1u said:Funny you quoted what I said but you only focus on the part that is objectional to you.
I stated "or as an excuse to prolong this ordeal so long." IOW, it could be true, but it's still no excuse.
Your father has nothing to do with this deal. You say he's in his 9th treatment, so exactly as I assumed, this is nothing new.
You have time for your band supposably, but no time to send the simple PM or Email to give info to your short term client. You even use your other clients as an excuse, but don't see this deal as such. Double standard and another BS excuse, maybe?
It takes a few moments at best to send the guy an Email or PM when you did not send the item out as you said you would. No matter what your excuses were, you avoid the real issue: Your communication with someone who had already given you his money.
As for my life brainchild, you have no ID, but nice try smart guy. I get paid to poke holes in stories on a much broader scale than this, I also get paid to remain unbiased when dealing with many issues. Anything I said above was just an observation of the facts as presented. I did not take sides as can be seen. Now that you have made good you wanna run around looking for trouble where there is none to be found, sorry dude, but it's funny you have time for this and yet had no time to send a simple message to keep your short term client happy. Maybe you should be spending time with your dad, or your band, or all those clients you say you have. Or could it be that was all BS?
Oh yee of little time to spare, spend it wisely. I have time right now cause I'm on summer break. You have no time to do what is right and yet wanna spew BS at me, LOL, and quit trying to justify your poor practices by changing the subject.
His refund was processed days ago. I posted a screen shot, so it's up to Paypal now. I totally understand him filing a 'dispute' since I was 48hrs late.. At least that would have got his money back to him as soon as I refunded it. However, he chose to immediately escalate to a full 'claim' which basically asks them for a full investigation, holding his money in the meantime.cupcaketwins":nw23i2c1 said:..In the time it took you to type out your dissertation you could have refunded the dude's money back.
