Klark, good to see that you resolved this. I also hope that your father recovers somehow. Still I have this feeling that if you would only have used a fraction of the effort you spent in this thread explaining yourself and put it in the communication with the buyer, then you would not be in this position. The fact that you keep responding here reflects that. The buyer is impatient and unfriendly, but you could have explained the situation much better upfront. Real life issues are more important than internet, I agree, but selling online is a real life transaction.

Said it before and I'll say it again; much as this sucks for buyer and seller, at least this forum ALLOWS you to out people if you need to. I've had bad deals on others and didn't find out you couldn't out people until it was way too late.

I think you also had an impatient crappy attitude here as well. Actually I understand it but you were the first to start telling the guy what should or shouldn't have done, perhaps that rubbed the seller wrong. As others have said you'll get further and better results not coming off as dicky even if you really want to. Nonetheless, the guy could have easily sent you a PM or a email or a text message informing you that he didn't make shipping like he told you he would. Poor communication on both parts.

I love Friedman modded Marshalls, the 5150 III is a cool amp, I prefer Anderson pickups in most cases, EVH is playing better than ever, George Lynch isn't, and you should use a Boss Metal Zone.

Excuses are irrelevant. When you take someone's money in exchange for goods or services, you are expected to uphold your end of the contract. Personal life, family drama, and etc. have no bearing on an unrelated contract you enter into.

If I give you money and in exchange, you promise to ship a good to me in a predetermined time frame and you do not... then you are at fault 100%.

Attitude has nothing to do with it. Extenuating circumstances happen. Shit happens. But it's your duty and it's within the scope of your good-faith to communicate to the other party that the situation has changed.

So, make it a learning experience and move on.

Well here is a collection of treads that you started regarding which pickup is better? What OD? and Modded Marshalls, What amp is best? . While there was no mention of EVH, Lynch or the 5150 iii, that is still 3 out of the 6 topics that make you think the forum went to the shitter.
