80's hard rock and metal is the only music I truly enjoy.. I love it and you don't have to crank a Marshall these days to get that tone.As much as I like to crank up the Marshall now and then, I really don't much.
This is why, the 80's happened 40 years ago. Let it go.
I still love the music as well, but if you are not getting the cone push from a cranked Marshall, you are not getting the tone.80's hard rock and metal is the only music I truly enjoy.. I love it and you don't have to crank a Marshall these days to get that tone.
Dude.Damn. And his current line up of musicians is extremely good. Just watching a night of Al Estrada is worth the cost of the ticket to me. And isn't the bass player in the 'Panama' clip the same guy that has toured with George Lynch? Band sounds really tight. It's like he just horses around on purpose when he could turn in a much more legit performance with not a whole lot more effort. Its more of an 'attitude / gratitude' thing at this point.
Honestly, I wouldn't know.. I was there then but I didn't play guitar. All I know is the recorded tones from tapes and cds. Also, the mic'd tones from concerts. I do like the tones I get from my Marshalls, Friedmans, Synergy modules and even my modelers.I still love the music as well, but if you are not getting the cone push from a cranked Marshall, you are not getting the tone.
A lot of that sound was all about volume. There really is no way around it. I used to put blankets over my 4x12's for small venues or tilt them back.Honestly, I wouldn't know.. Agreed, if Dave could sing he'd struggle no more than any other artist in these economic times. Just to much social media out there with live cuts of him singing and it's pretty brutal.Yeah - I feel like "can't sing the songs" is a key part of what's going on here.
I'm sympathetic. I can't sing the songs either. But I'm not trying to tour them.
Zero doubt about that. Sammy can't function without getting a dig in at Roth or Al.Are you implying Sammy is still a little vindictive after all these years????????????????![]()

Dave’s last real shout.
Can’t believe people dont want to see this, quite shocked
It's gotta be so distracting/frustrating to be a player in his band while he just completely ignores the time feel and structure of the songs
Hopefully the vocals are absent from their in-ears![]()
