Hope it works out.

I just changed the tips on my IEMs last night. Lord knows what they were growing, but they didn't feel right. I put new ones on and threw the old ones at my bassist and said, "Oops, wrong trash."

I thought you were acting funny last week…

During the lesson he knocked over a coffee can full of nickles.

I asked him about them, he said he wanted to get another Larry amp, and he has been street corner hustling to make some extra cash.

I asked him who paid him with nickels he said, they all do.

I hope this is just an infection or clogged up but it’s been like 3 days and my hearings just flat out dropped in half . I was sick . So hopefully just that . But freaky . Anyhow here my fav song ever recorded .Any weird experiences like this guys ?

I seriously hope you do not have what I have, which is something called Sudden Sensorineural hearing loss or SSHL. Out of the blue I lost all hearing on one side. I went for treatment (which is injecting steroids into your eardrum) multiple times but it never came back. My condition was coupled with Hyperacusis, so the only thing I get out of that side anymore is painful distortion and I have to wear an ear plug when out in public. Please get it checked out right away because there is a limited window for successful treatment (like 2 weeks). You need a good ENT. Hopefully it is something just cold / sinus related. Mine was not. Let me know if you need any info from me.

This happens from time to time, especially this time of year. I suspect your hearing will slowly return to normal as your sinus/infection/etc resolves. I had my ENT explain that the inflammation associated with "being sick" can cause exactly this and in my case he was right. I thought my ears were clogged or something. Had them cleaned, looked at, everything. Just took a bit of time to go away.

Oh man hope you get better soon.

I had a severe cold about the same time last year & needed to blow my nose a lot. That lead to my ear canals getting inflammation which lasted for about 3 weeks during which I feared my hearing would not make it back.

What temporarily helped were ibuprofen pills which helped for short bursts of time.

7 or 8 years ago I had an ear go "quiet" on me on a camping trip. I'm not sure if it was from sleeping in the colder environment and it made some stuff shift around. But it took a couple weeks for that to return to normal.

Whenever I get a cold, Flu or similar one of my ears ALWAYS goes south. Like a pressure change when flying...except it doesn't change. Once the illness subsides all is well.

I would highly suggest you to visit an audiology or otorhinolaryngology ambulance. The issue of your hearing loss could be completely benign like swelling of the Eustachian tube. But it could be also caused by vascular disorder of the inner ear and then the time really matters. It is very important to start proper treatment (high dose of corticosteroids or other vasodilatators) as soon as possible because the chance of hearing improvement decreases rapidly with time.
What about a proctologist?

I lost hearing in one ear after spending a day riding roller coasters a few years ago. Bought some ear drops from the pharmacy to unblock them and they unblocked gradually over a few days. My Mum also just lost hearing in one ear (no rollercoasters) and again ear drops did the trick coupled with a trip to the doctor. Hopefully a quick trip to the doctor and some ear drops will sort you out soon 🤞

Dude, I just talked to you and you sound sick.. needless to say I can’t tell you what you have since I’m 600 miles away but you sound stuffy and snotty. Oddly or not… Covid can present with upper respiratory illness and acute hearing loss. The disease is a neurotoxin. It’s why smell and taste go away for a period of time. Also could just be Eustachian tube inflammation which will also can present with some some hearing loss.. just turn your amp up. You be ok 😏
Thanks man . Just saw this . I’m still fucked atm . My big problem is hearing human voices in person with soft spoken students . Holy fuck I’m deaf . But ya I’m still sick. Covid got 6 years late

I had to go to the doc a few days ago for something similar. All of a sudden, hearing went down a lot in my right ear and stayed for a couple weeks or so now. Felt fine. Lymph node swelled and went to the doc. Have some topical antibiotics and hoping it improves.

I already have imbalanced hearing, which is a blessing/curse, so not having fun with being half deaf almost.

Have you gotten your ears irrigated?
I had one ear get completely clogged. Never had it happen before. I dumped peroxide in it for a few days, tried everything. Finally went to the doctor and they irrigated it, and huge chunks came out. Never had earwax problems ever, don't know what caused it, but they cleared it right up.

Thanks for all replies . I’m going to rie to tomorrow . I kinda didnt music fir a week while sick . But im back . Hearing still shit but I’ll figure it out

Once the newfangled components of your ear dry out again I reckon things should return to normal, if not very-close to it Brother Nick.

FWIW - about once every 90 days my left ear gets really blocked - over the counter drug store ear wax removal drops and the irrigation kit as recommended on this tread has me back to 100%. But it accumulates so gradually that I don't notice it until its ... well .. noticeable!

I used to LIVE with bud style headphones and tunes in my head nearly every waking hour. And I used to have to clean both ears out every few weeks. Now its only the left ear and its only about once every 90 days. But it is disconcerting when half your world goes quiet!
