The peavy 5150 I’ve heard many times was a cheap copy of a Soldano SLO so that would be Hartley Peavy

It really unfortunate for James that he had that horrible moment at the piano where he thought he was witnessing the end

James Brown and Jim Dicola are great designers real nice guys until they had to deal with Eddie.
I can't tell if Ed was like that because everyone wanted a piece of him or he was just an asshole.

His ideas were being stolen the second Eruption came out.

Or was it just the substance abuse?

I have seen him do some seriously charitable things.

You can't tell cuz you're an AI chat-bot and a really stupid one STFU -

Eddie put a cease desist order in 1978-1979 on Seymour Duncan and Wayne Charvel/ Grover Jackson for them to stop making striped guitars and for Seymour Duncan for advertising his Van Halen pickup, now look it’s all about the money

I don’t, dude was an asshole lol
Yeah, he really was until he finally got sober. I think too many fed his ego and never pushed back, (understandably, nobody wants to run off their meal ticket). He got a big head, really shit on DeCola.

You can't judge his actions from a normal standpoint.

Addicts lie, steal, forget everything they said yesterday and become really selfish.

Not excusing his actions but just mentioning his addiction. If you have never been around an addict, you may not understand.
I’ve been around lots. For some reason I’ve always been in denial that Ed was an addict.

My cousin was a life long drug addict, in and out of prison. He would lie because he was a thief, etc. Ed’s lies, as much as I love him, are more ego based. Variance voltage, showing them how to build a guitar, d-tuna. I don’t think it was all drugs.

Barbara Page was Eddie business manager, its all about the money, she’s the one that gave checks(after Eddie signing the checks) to Mike Soldano to purchase three SLO 100 hundred amps, there thinking was that Mike should have given Eddie the amps for free, why would you think that you got more money then the average guitar player WTF…..

Behind every addict/alcoholic is a group of enablers. Ed is no different than the homeless guy sleeping in a cardboard box under a bridge.
With or without a guitar. Just means Ed was craftier maintaining his addiction.
He blamed his tongue cancer which spread and eventually killed him on metal picks, even after having 1/3rd of his tongue removed he
continued to choke down burning tobacco.
Im sure Val & Wolf could share plenty of horror stories as has Sam.
I personally think all the 90's Peavey / VH video story stuff lately is just targeted Peavey marketing to create a buzz.
Ed never did an amp with Marshall and he never did an official guitar with Charvel per say the 2 things that made his most famous
sound.
Ed's guitars always looked like junk to me beat up, hacked up, burnt w/ cigarettes ect just like Ed himself.
Only one Ed ever cared about the most was Ed. At least he made an attempt toward the end.

Ed lied for years about gear. That's no secret. The more industry people talk, the more you wonder just how much he actually lied about. And how much of what he claimed to have invented he actually did invent. There is no denying that he was a brilliant guitarist and musician. But definitely a flawed human.

an average lead electric guitar player needs a certain amount of ego and bravado to function. forged over decades of unimaginable privilege, infidelity, rabid hero worship, yes men, drug abuse and alcoholism, the results speak for themself.

always wondered what type of book matt bruck could write about the highs and lows of being EVH’s personal assistant.
