I picked up a 1980 deluxe early this year that has those low los flat frets, I dont htink they are fretless wonders, but I thought I would hate them and was planning on getting them replaced. But I freaking love them. That john sykes edwards looks freaking tits.

No love for the RR style creme? :( but yeah, I might get a Sykes version at some point, these edwards feel solid. Actually, after another 30 min on it today, I too am starting to like the feel with these frets. Oh man. Looks like I'm gonna start picking up Edwards all over the place.

Creme isn’t for me. I like black and wine red les Paul’s the best. Before I actually had thin low profile frets i would have had every intention of replacing them. But after playing it for a few weeks before deciding who to take it to for fret replacement I said screw it they play great.

I’m the same way. I like wine red, tea burst, tobacco burst, and cherry sunburst more. Honestly it’s because the yellowed alpine white is so apart of RR that they command prices above the others for no other reason. I personally don’t like them that much to warrant the increased price.

I currently own tobacco burst, clownburst, and wine red.

I actually agree with you guys. I only got this for the nostalgia and because it just feels right to play RR tunes on this. I also like the worn black and dark wine. Very sharp and usually at better price points. I might consider a GMW polka dot V down the line as that one really screams Randy but for the cost I'm leaning more towards a no for what it is.
