This pup thing is a redundant topic I know.....way to many variables....however-has anyone tried the 66 in the bridge position? I read on the interwebz....cough....cough....that the 66 has the "scooped" midz thing going.

Well, I guess as far as EMG's, it might. Never tried in the bridge, but yes, it's one of the scoopier EMG's.

But if you compare to passives which don't have the whole bandpass EQ curve, then nope. Still very much active-sounding.

Also keep in mind they only make that pickup for the neck position. So if you're OK with the aesthetics of either the poles facing the wrong way or the logo being backwards, then try it. My OCD would kill me if I did, TBH, LOL.
