ya it's a great album. Tone is very very good! Is it me or does this album just shit all over Metallica? I think so!

No contest. The last three Megadeth albums have killed anything Metallica has put out in 10 years. Mustaine absolutely destroys Hammett as a lead player and he writes better songs than James (these days). I think it is a good thing that Dave never got ultra ridiculous rich like the Metallica guys. He didn't forget who he was and how to write killer riffs. The Metallica guys have no connection with who they were when they wrote their best material. Those who keep thinking they will write anything close to their 80s output are kidding themselves because it ain't gonna happen. That's why this new Megadeth is so kickass. Dave is killing in the songwriting department as well as guitar playing department, all at a late stage in his career.

I could not have said it any better, well said.

Endgame is good, and I like it. But it's really just a mix of The System Has Failed and UA. Which are both better albums in my opinion.
The songs have the same formula and direction that we've seen from all the post year 2000 Megadeth albums. It's a winning and cool formula, but not quite as stimulating as I wish it would have been or used to be.
The tone is great yes, but too there's too much sweep picking IMO.

I like the tone and production but most of the songs kind of suck  . I like the MD solos better but as far as songs go, Death Magnetic is a much much better album.

I thought the Fallon performance was ok. That was the first time they ever played that song live, or at least one of the first, so I know the performance of that tune will get better.

I did find it interesting that there were only JVMs on stage. Of course that doesn't mean that Chris isn't still using an ENGL.

Also, I dug the Dean Explorer...pretty fuuny that it is cream just like James'!

man, I don't like mustaine's vocals one bit!

I'll pick this one up, or at least a few mp3s

After a few listens, it's much better than United Abominations..or Megadeth by numbers...so that's not saying much...something vaguely anoying about it tho..might be Brodericks stuff..am just not feeeling it...maybe I need more time and volume :D

The guitar tone is still  tho'

Very good sounding disc and way better than the sterile UA recording. Personally I wasn't too impressed with Broderick and thought he was out done by Mustaine, who seems to know exactly what type of leads work over his riffs. Poland & Friedman had much better phrasing. If you like run of the mill Shrapnel stuff from the 80's then Broderick is your man.

I have listened to the album 6 times straight threw. The tone on this album rips! I do not care for the sweep picking all the time in every song. The chording in How the story ends...just sounds great!

Well now that the newness has worn off. The tones are some of the best Megadeth has recorded, but the songs are ok, nothing awesome. I kind of miss the earlier Dave M where he vocally sounded like he was about to loose his mind and go off on somebody.

Maybe it's that it's just too polished maybe.

it's sounds OK .. just another megadeth album ..
guitar tone wise ..i'm not digging it at all.... not my style
perhaps it's better than deaf magnetic metallica but i'm not so sure about that myself

who want's metallica to write the same old album everytime ..slayer has that covered

The middle part of Bodies is the by far the high point of the album for me. Great Megadeth release!

Yeah I'm really digging the CD too and the tone is one of the best metal tones I've heard in long time. I wonder what they were using.

while the liner notes may say JVM, the live rig's a Digitech GSP1101 through a Marshall Monobloc 100/100 with V30's (Marshall AV/BV cabs)
