im really gassing for one badly. i dont have decent cabinets to run something like this through anyway. so the acoustic will stay on my current list for practical reasons. but does anyone have any tips on prices used? or soundclips they could post?

just looking for best combinations. is a really sick amplifier from what i have heard so far.

Not sure if youre aware they have a new fireball coming out, its 100watt instead of the 60, supposedly its voiced different as well. I used to own a 60 watt, they need a cab thats big and open sounding because its a very tight compressed amp. I used it with a Bogner Ecstasy 4x12 and thought it sounded pretty awesome.

The new Fireball 100 is a monster I just got one in. Wow is all I can say. Its not like a 60 to me. Its kind of givin me tones between a blackmore and a powerball. I am extremely impressed with it as it wasn't a simple super high gain amp like I thought it was going to be.

Engls usually seem a bit opposite to other tube amps to me in the sense they reach a certain point in volume at which point they can turn into a garbled mess. However, they kick ASS at low and high volume on this one! I know I sound like such a paid reviewer, but its true. This one helps my big invader letdown!

didnt know that at all. ill have to do some research and find out whats goin on.

imho, i would rather buy the real one used rather than build a clone for instance. i thought about it, but then realized id come out about the same. its cheaper than my 5150 was when i bought it years ago.

thanks for the info!

Thats interesting. Is it possible to coax some convincing old school hard rock/metal out of it (UFO, Thin Lizzy, etc...)?

I liked the one thing that the 60 watt did, but it was definately a one trick pony.

would you say it has characteristics of the powerball and if so, how?

im not a huge fan of the powerball to be honest from what i have heard on google's sandbox. now i know youtube has terrible compression, the soundclips could be poor quality, speaker cabinets, etc.

but most soundclips ive heard of the fireball sound, what i think, to be pretty good.

and thanks for letting me know that the amp plays compressed and tight, will help in finding a correct speaker cabinet for it if, jut in case, i dont like the new 100 that i havent known about :)

I am curious as well. I found the Fireball 60Watt to be a one trick pony, it did a great one trick though...

I will have mine tomorrow (hopefully). I cant wait. I will give my opinion tomorrow night.

Yeah very possible to get hard rock/metal out of it. Like I said, think ritchie blackmore meets powerball. I was caught completely offguard with this thing. (I love it when that happens)

Its gonna be a big player at its price point. Finally engl tosses out a new product that I really dig!
