Thanks. I too have a 1969 Slant Basketweave cab I use as my standard. It's got the G12H bass cones in it, and responds to 1W the same as it does 50W - smooth and perfect at any volume from any position in the room. Every other 4x12 I own (3 Stone Age, Mills, 2 other vintage Marshall straights, Matchless, Scumback) is at a studio. Of course, I am considering whether the right G12M complement to my basement '69 would be the EVH cab, just as you have done.

That's the thing about it that I really like... it's almost identical to my old basketweave in terms of volume response.
My 412 cab with V30s is insanely loud! Every amp I plug into it sound way louder than on any other cabinet. If the amp volume is on 3, through the 5153 it sound like on 3, through the V30s sound like on 5!!! And it's not because the V30s handle more wattage, since my 4x12 with old EVM-12L would sound like on 3 also.
Of course, the more you push air with these speakers, the better they sound. However, you don't need too much volume for that to start happening, like a V30 or a Scholz need.
For the price you can find them used, I think it's a no brainer! And when getting it, open it up and look at the wood work, the way the parts are bolted together, etc... it's an amazingly well built cab. And it sounds fantastic!

love my evh 4x12, sounds great with my 5153 and marshall 2555.

i also tried it with my uber and mark v and it was decent, i hated it with my herbert!!

You guys are not helping my GAS. Always wondered how my Marshall silver jubilee 2553 would sound through a greenback 412 cab, sounds like the EVH 412 cabs are a good, relatively inexpensive way to find out.

What's the quality like coming out of that factory vs cabinets made here in the USA.

The quality is great. The back is built on so tight specs you can hardly remove it, when you put it back, it's not the usual "the screws will hold it tight" construction. You do not need to force it, but you feel it is almost air tight without the screws. Even the paintjob is flawless in the inside.
It's up to the Bogner and CAA stuff in quality.

What is the verdict on the EVH 2 x 12?

The 4x12 is awesome.

This. I want to know if they sound different due to the speakers.

They will sound way different, G12H30s and G12M25/G12EVHs are very different speakers.

I think you ould be happy if you tried it, i liked my uberkab and mesa cab alot with the jube but once i got the evh cab i stopped using the other cabs with that amp.

Where on the speaker would check to see "made in england". I had the chance to play the EVH 5150 III cab and it total smoke's great cab. I purchased the cab used it was in new condition.I called EVH(Fender) and I wanted to know when the cab was built.I read them the serial# and they explained to me that its a very early cab it was built in Feb 2007.The cabs didnt get released until July 2007,very interesting.Im glad I tried the cab great punch and clarity.

What are your thoughts, soundwise on the EVH(fender) 4x12 cabinets. How do they compare to other cabinets
They are an exact copy of a Marshall Heritage BHW cab. One issue overlooked with these cabs is that they are hard to hear if they'se on the floor and you're standing close. A Marshall angled Heritage cab AHW is easier to hear.

To my measure they are 5cm smaller than a standard Marshall cab. Never had an issue not hearing it.

Sorry not "exact" but a copy. I have trouble hearing a straight cab, they are more directional than the spread of an angled.

Anybody got pics of the insides of one of these? Would be interesting to see how well they are put together.

Me too, I've got a 2x12 on order, but local store promising to blow out 4x12, will use with evh mini.

Whats a fair price for one of these used in decent shape? Local GC has one I can buy for $650 out the door, couple of minor scuff but in good shape otherwise. Anyone try one with Bogner 101B or EL34 20th? Thanks

I haven't played the EVH 4x12 and 2x12 side by side. However, I have played on them both...and tbh I may have preferred the 2x12.
