Just messing with some settings on the Iconic head - small wet dry wet setup, with some stereo Chorus and delay applied, room sound. Volume at 2, Once you hit volume 3 (out of 10) starts to punch nicely. Amp is slightly boosted by King of clone, by 68 pedals. For the price the Iconic is a pretty awesome amp, had it for a few years now.

Anyway, what do you think of the sound ?

Sounds killer man. Great snarl / sass in that playing too.

btw what's the deal with that custom fretboard inlay?

I’ve been saying all along that these are killer amps. Never understood why they never really took off

Sounds good to me. I probably have enough stuff around here to mess around with a w/d/w thing. I've never tried. What are you using? 🤘

Amp sounds great. It sounds more open and less compressed than a 50 watt EVH 5153 amp.:2thumbsup:

Correct, I had both, 5153 seems more compressed even with lower gain setting. Despite the lower price (and different design), Iconic is no less of an amp than 5153.

I use amp to Engl 2x12 cab as main dry, then Bray LO-1 line out to effects and power amp, which powers two 1x12 wet cabs. When it comes to effects its a little more complicated if you are adding a mixer (which I am), so you can have the fx in parallel and also mix in the dry in the wet cabs, If needed.

When I was amp shopping a couple years back I was surprised by how much more I liked the Iconic than the regular 5153. It felt much more open and Marshall-y without the crazy compression that bugged me on the 5153. The dealbreaker for me was not being able to remotely switch between Clean and Overdrive modes on Channel 1.

I agree. I would’ve been happy with just a clean channel and a blue channel. I prefer to boost the blue channel over using the red channel.
