Looks great. I did that to a Rivera Venus 5 I had and loved the difference that it made. Now you get a multicolor LED unit from Ikea called the Dioder to put inside and you are ready to have a cool light show!
It's funny you say that because I have 2 blue lights I was going to put 1 of them in it but I was worried about noise.

That is totally cool. That's what I would want. Something that looks more like the Pico-Valve and sounds more like the 20H. Nice. :)

defnitely do the white chicken head knobs...i have them on mine...(as well as grill/snakeskin...)

Very nice! Thanks foo inspiration, I think I'll do the same to my JCA20H :D
Thanks. It's an inexpensive way to make it look good.

Really like the new grill.

I see the JC20 has also had some mods added, like an effects loop and something else....

Can someone who has done this tell me:

1) The front metal grille dimensions/shape.
2) Proceedure for removing the front grille/installing new one
3) If going to Home Depot, what exact material was used. Any other suggestions for the metal grille material. I'm assuming
these are coming in raw metal form and you are cutting/painting them?

Thanks! I have one of these amps inbound, and will want to remove/replace the gille asap, and could use a little guidance!
Feel free to provide as much detail as you want....assume I know nothing!

Its called expanded metal. Just a phillips srewdriver and its18" by 5". It took about an hour to do and most of that was waiting for paint to dry.

So that simple? Cut an 18 X 5 piece of "expanded metal", paint it black, and screw it in? Does the stock faceplate come off by going in from the rear? I don't have the amp here yet to see...

Thanks.

Yes, remove the back panel and then go in from back to loosen screws to the front panel.

No "face lift" yet, but the amp came today, and bone stock, this thing is silly good considering it cost less than what I got for the last pedal I sold. I really had a blast with the gain crankin' which is what I think or thought this amp was all about.
Alot of "familiar" tones.

Then I opened up the Master Volume, and gradually took the Gain up and worked the guitar volume controls, and forgot for a moment that I was not playing through either my old Z Carmen Ghia or MAZ18 NR Heads. I was not expecting these amps to sound anywhere near this good clean, even in the face with my experiences with the Zs. The JCA did go from the very onset of breakup to flat out angry pretty quickly with either a rotation of the gain contol or the guitar volume if set back.

So it just get's better from here with tube swaps and mods? What a rediculously low priced "ticket to play".

Thanks much! :)
Let me know how it turns out.

Thanks again for your help. I was able to get two pieces of the expanded metal that was the closest equivalent to what is stock on the rear panel oval...what I got may be just a notch heavier, cut exactly to 18 X 5, painted it, and got the front panel on. Looks fine so far....I did not affix the big round "333" badge but I might.

It looks like it would be very easy to build a nice little hardwood cab for this thing.
