Fender Are SUING EVERY STRAT BUILDER

more late stage capitalism horseshit. Gibson did this 30+ years ago, and it didn't hurt their brand one bit, in spite of what WE thought. Both companies should focus on QC and keeping their product in the hands of "John and Jane Everyplayer" who want a nice, iconic, american guitar, but can't afford a Suhr, or a Tuttle, or a JAMES TAYLOR JAMES TAYLOR JAMES TAYLOR JAMES TAYLOR JAMES TAYLOR, etc

Companies think rich people will keep them in business forever if they charge more and sell less... the modern corporate motto. The car business is doing the same. Sell less at the highest prices possible.
What's funny is that Dean just won their lawsuit against Dimebags estate over the Razorback guitars because the judge said they owned the design due to years of good faith use and sales... Gibson won against Dean for the V and Z designs even after 40 years of Dean selling those shapes. Who ever had the most money wins in our current shittified country.

My guess is Fender wants to "punish" other builders because Fender isn't selling enough guitars.

Youre telling me the Jannick Gers sig hasn't skyrocketed Fender's sales
The hell you say😂

Eeesh trading Adrian smith for janick gers should be up there with "trading babe ruth" and Larry anderson for jeff bagwell" and "Luka for AD" in sportsball YouTube videos about the worst trades in history

Seriously what a fucking downgrade that was

It was so bad they now have three guitarists like a clown show just to bring him back

Its always been bad. Many bad lineup changes with Maiden. They should have retired with Nicko imo.

Yeah i thought this was already settled precedent

Fender being a shitty company surprises no one, though, im sure
It is. When you fail to protect your copyright for years, you lose your copyright. Gibson and Fender both lost it. I didn't watch the video, but I guarantee it's another one like we saw a few months back. They are suing some shitbox Chinese company who can't afford to defend themselves in court, hoping to boost their legitimacy on the shape. If it ever actually got in front of a judge they would be laughed out of court.

The only company ( vintage) that bothered to protect their shit was Rickenbacker.

My understanding is that only companies in Germany are restricted from manufacturing or selling guitars in or shipped from Germany with the Strat body shape.

Apparently, Fender won a default judgment in Germany back in March, as the Defendant they sued did not even show up, so Fender won by default and they are doing what anyone would do, enforcing the judgment to the fullest extent they can.

This would assumedly affect all the big players, Suhr, Anderson, PRS etc trying to sell in Germany.

That's what I thought :dunno:

Makes sense though, they would never go after someone who actually has the resources to fight back - which is exactly why Gibson waited until Dean was on it's last legs to hit them with the v lawsuit

This was established in the US in 2004. Whatever shit this current video is talking about has no effect in the US.

Must be a chinese outlaw small company then. All the Indonesian, Korean, etc factories are OEMs for large manufacturers with big money companies behind them
