**EDIT** Resolution is in post #31 *****

So, after 10 years... I finally ran into a bad seller on reverb, I knew it would get me eventually.. but here ya go for anyone interested.

I came across a Denon rack mounted CD player listed as Parts, non functioning... description says the CD door wont work... oh well its not expensive and I am good at fixing shit.

So, the box arrived, and the outside of the box was in bad shape, and way to big for a rack mount CD player, when I pick it up I can feel everything shift from one side to the other and almost drop it. So I take it inside and open up the box...

This is the worst packing job I have ever seen... actual trash thrown in the box... no packaging.

I sent the guy a message with the photos on Friday, never got a response, today I left him a 3 star with comments regarding the awful packaging and slow to no communication, he drops a retaliatory 1 star and accuses me of being a scammer... ill talk to reverb tomorrow and shouldn't have any issues getting this removed, since his listing is fraudulent... I have not asked for anything back from him or any sort of refund... yet.

Had a seller send a TimeLine in an oversized box with quite literally one small piece of bubble wrap floating around. Pedal worked luckily (and still does). I don't get how people can be so dumb.

He put styro around all of the sides loosely and thought that would keep it. When one cracked - the whole thing went to crap. Compared to my previous experience - this guy at least kinda tried.

12yrs ago, I purchased a vertical Mesa 2x12 cabinet on Reverb. I asked him to double box it. What does he do? He taped cardboard around the cabinet. It was not even in a box. It arrived damaged. I cannot believe FedEx allowed to take possession and deliver it. Seller says "I used 2 boxes" and that I damaged it. Once Reverb customer service saw my pictures prior to disassembling the taped cardboard, I had a FedEx truck at my door in a few days to pick up and ship back to the seller on his dime.

My packaging is legendary.
I even include instructions on how to safely unpack the item.

Even packed well, UPS will find a way to damage it.

Most here know this story...

I got a pristine '76 Fender Super Twin shipped to me. it was well packed, and yes it's a heavy item. I open the box, and UPS managed to crack the upper left cabinet, separating the right side panel from the top. I called the seller and they offered to take the return for a full refund, or give me money off. The amp worked, nothing inside was damaged, it needs a cap job, but I retubed pre- and power, and it sounds good. I kept the amp and took the discount.

This amp survived since 1976 in great shape, until UPS customized it. Fuck UPS

This was the amp before UPS:

This is the amp after UPS:

I run into bad sellers EVERYTIME I shop on Reverb. To think, these assholes post up stuff that tempts me, they get my money, then send me a product I never even needed in the first place, I just wanted it real bad cuz I'm a sucker for a pretty guitar or cool tube amp I'll never get to crank. What a bunch of dicks.

This guys a POS. I once bought an Aztec nightswan (not a reissue) seller sent it in a gig bag with a ups label stuck to it. One other time I bought an ltd kirk hammet 600.it was in a box big enough for the body and had the neck completely sticking out of the top. Morons everywhere...

I have had these types of experiences so often I can't bring myself to use reverb half of the time.

There's an extremely rare guitar on the verb right now that I probably would trade my soul for

Those bastards

Some guys don't know or care to know how to pack shit. I think it took @klugster quite awhile to unpack the shit I sent him. lol

I guess I have just been lucky, but I have honestly yet to have a bad transaction on Reverb or Ebay.. stuff has happened outside of the control of either myself or the seller... carrier related usually, but never once have I had an issue with the seller or buyer.

Anyway, spoke to reverb this morning, they are suggesting I initiate a refund, which I did... and they are monitoring all the communications, and told me my refund will be processed as soon as I ship it.
