Finally ran into my first bad seller on Reverb.

i bought Gibson Les Paul Standard from reverb, from UK, and the guy literally wrapped the Gibson case in the small bubbled bubble wrap, and slapped the label on the bubble wrap. NO FUCKING BOX!!!

it actually survived the trip, with just a little bit of damage to the bottom of the case.

One of the rack ears was bent, but no clue if there is other internal damage, the original listing said the cd door wouldnt open.. well the door opens but gives an error when you close it, its acting like it isnt closing all the way or the switch isnt reading it being closed.

Nothing else, just the label.

I bought a custom Suhr Modern from a Norway on eBay maybe 12-14 years ago and dude just shipped the guitar in the hardcase with a label slapped on it. Miraculously the guitar wasn't damaged but the case took a beating and he was mad at me when I left negative feedback.

I still have the guitar.

Also had some knucklehead throw some saran wrap on a case and slapped a label on it. No box. Guitar arrived ok but I suspect a crack in the headstock paint resulted from this. Didn't look structural so I let it slide.

This has almost constantly been my experience in my 20+ years on eBay, whenever I bought something from a UK seller.... It's like the invention of cardboard boxes never reached that island.

I had vintage, valuable Boss pedals in their boxes sent to me in just a big garbage bag, wrapped around the pedal's box a few times.
You just can hear Alistair or Chadwick go "well, it's already in a box, innit, bruv? Why do I gotta pay fer moar cardboard, ya limey tosser?!"
Stuff from Spain? Boxed.
Stuff from Germany? Double boxed and with a nice, stern looking cross on it.
Stuff from Italy? Meh...6-7

But stuff from the UK? Wrapped. In thin fookin' plastic bags, mateys.
Bloody gits. Brexit served 'em right.

So, after 10 years... I finally ran into a bad seller on reverb, I knew it would get me eventually.. but here ya go for anyone interested.

I came across a Denon rack mounted CD player listed as Parts, non functioning... description says the CD door wont work... oh well its not expensive and I am good at fixing shit.

So, the box arrived, and the outside of the box was in bad shape, and way to big for a rack mount CD player, when I pick it up I can feel everything shift from one side to the other and almost drop it. So I take it inside and open up the box...

This is the worst packing job I have ever seen... actual trash thrown in the box... no packaging.

I sent the guy a message with the photos on Friday, never got a response, today I left him a 3 star with comments regarding the awful packaging and slow to no communication, he drops a retaliatory 1 star and accuses me of being a scammer... ill talk to reverb tomorrow and shouldn't have any issues getting this removed, since his listing is fraudulent... I have not asked for anything back from him or any sort of refund... yet.

Never leave feedback until it's resolved. Typically when there's any type of compensation, you can't leave feedback, or vice versa. I had a guy leave me 1 star for shipping me a broken amp. 2 chassis bolts were broke, for starters, and it had issues. He ripped me off, then left me one star for complaining and leaving him negative feedback.. And the A-hole waited 3 months to do it. Unless it is egregious, I just don't bother, and dont leave feedback at all. Many just dont do the right thing, and it baffles me they can sleep at night. I let God sort them out.

Well, it has been resolved..

Reverb first sent an email saying they wanted to refund me what I paid but they couldnt change the feedback.

I emailed back with some quotes from their policy, namely they can remove retaliatory feedback and fraudulent feedback. Got the email this morning that they refunded my money and removed the feedback, and they did not remove the three star I left. So, this time we won boys!
