Missouri looks kinda like it sucks to me for the most part but the southern part along the Arkansas border in the ozarks looks killer. Say what you will but I have been through Branson and there are definitely worse cities a guy could choose to live.
Branson used to be great. Now it’s all tourists and bullshit. As far as topography, the ozarks stretches nearly to St. Louis. Where I am is technically considered ozarks. I don’t care for northern Missouri ( that’s north of the Missouri River) but anything south of the Missouri River is topographically the same. Woods, small to medium rivers and streams. Ozark type mountains and hills.

I have always wondered what the South or North Carolinas are like......Probably just as shity as Virgina weather wise in the winter and summer......

But I mean a lot of people I've meet from there are pretty cool like folks from Nashville and Kentucky and those surrounding areas. Don't really know as I'm just a SoCal boy.

People I've met on the forums and in real life from those areas and places from there seem pretty cool/mellow/down to Earth by me as much as anywhere else or anyone else :dunno:

Does Missouri have lower property tax rates than Arkansas? Is there state income tax? Part of me looks more closely at Arkansas cause Missouri has stuff going on, Arkansas doesn't. I am already in a high growth state and don't want to relocate to someplace the communists eventually will take over. I'm getting to old to keep moving all the time.

North Carolina has some of the most beautiful scenery in the entire USA. It was very affordable until covid happened, and now it is absolutely insanely priced for mountain land and homes there. And then you had the hurricane absolutely trash a lot of it. South Carolina is more like FL or GA, hot and humid. I avoided NC because it was on the verge of going blue but I think with redistricting the democrats got put in check. As for S Carolina, that's very conservative.

I lived in Missouri for 4 years, while my ex did her residency. Lived in Kirksville, right on the tornado belt, a town over from Joplin. Fun to wake up with everything gone some mornings, including our chimney one time. I saw a tornado start up driving down the highway in a storm. I complain about Newyorkistahn, but compared to other parts of the country, mother nature takes it EASY on us. That is, except for freezing b@lls.

Probably higher than Arkansas, but it’s still pretty low. And we’re fixing to get rid of the property tax altogether. Topographically northern Arkansas is very similar to southern Missouri. Southern Arkansas sucks. Texarkana should be carpet bombed.

In Missouri it’s illegal to fuck your sister too so we got that going for us. Lol.

Kirksville is not even close to Joplin brother. It’s damn near to Iowa.

ah, well it was some town that was known better than ours

they had AWESOME ribs though! My ex did her residency at the hospital, which was connected to KCOM, and I proctored courses at the school. It's foggy thoug.

If you notice most of the "survival" videos on youtube are shot in the eastern woodlands. It much easier to exist off the land where there is plenty of wood to cut, water and stable weather. It's why so many settlers prospered there initially I think. Yeah, it's chilly up there in the winter, but it ain't got shit on northern MN, WI, or MI.

Kirksville is a little north of Columbia. About 100 miles.

All I remember from Missouri, is a national park that was a size of a large hill compared to where I'm from. There is literally a local ski hill that is taller. I could stand in my truck, and see for miles. Oh, something else I remember. We were known as the nice spanish couple, even though I'm Japanese and Irish, and my ex was Sicilian. Everyone else was blue eyed and blond!!!!! EVERYONE!

Probably not. Unless you drive really fast. It’s about 93 miles.
I know it was farther than the airpott, maybe Macon?

Interesting story about that airport. I worked at the university, and we were having a conference of all Osteopathic deans from schools around the country. They were flying into the little airport there, which I came in a few times on puddle jumpers. It didn't have the vertical radar stuff, just horizontal, as it was meant for small planes. We were saving for our marriage, so my ex flew back to KC and drove to Kirksville instead of taking the puddle jumper from STL to save money. That plane clipped the top of the trees coming in, and everyone except a secretary seated at the fire exit was lost. All those Deans who were mentors from other universities. It was tragic. Pretty crazy on life's small decisions.

edit: I think it was Macon I got confused with Joplin.

I was born and raised here and I never even heard of Macon, Missouri. I do remember hearing about that plane crash though.

yeah, it was crazy. My ex was flying back from FL. There were a lot of people shook by that, they were leaders around the country at different osteopathic medical schools. They lost everyone in one fell swoop.

I do have a guitar builder buddy who lives in Marshall, Missouri. Their claim to fame is the Smithfield plant that is Chinese owned and staffed almost 100% by Mexicans.

Yeah go waste other people's time..... wasting your own time and energy being lame.... doing nothing worth jack shit or worth anyones time.....

See how many fucks I give my guy and well have a great useless life..... being useless.... doing nothing..... just wasting time and energy being a sorry lame.....

Me I don't have time for that shit like you do Nor do I care to waste more of my time with people like you.
You're sure wasting a lot of it right here, ad nauseum. Do you realize you're saying the same thing over and over? But that's also your problem at TGP, thinking you're winning an argument by having the last word. Doesn't matter to you that you're making no sense and become a blathering idiot in the process...the last word is your only concern.
