-I'm a Fortin fan-(but no longer a pedal guy, I haven't bought a pedal in year's, and have no plans to buy this or any pedal)-I believe Mike's still obligated to fulfill some thing's in his RANDALL contract, maybe someone who's in the know can chime in,... -(I thought he sold the rights & CIRCIUT Paten's of the relabeled NATAS, BONES, MEATHEAD, etc.... To RANDALL ?)-

Much overhyped... very under delivered.

Well, they are dang near sold out already.

Much like McDonalds and "85 million served" does not equal quality food. Carry on.

Well, I guess you should play one at some point. Funny how Meshuggah loves them enough to be the only pedal they use and leave on all the time, but the handbuilt by Mike Fortin channel-switching boost pedal isn't good enough for some.

Oh well.

No thanks. I've played enough Fortin stuff to know I'm not a fan. Not a fan of Meshuggah either. But as said earlier... Carry on.

Fair enough man. Guess that makes sense haha!

33 seems just like the boost part :) maybe a few other artist adjustments, who knows. I'm happy with the Grind for certain applications. Not interested in a clean boost, but I assume it's whatever is built in to his custom Meshuggah amps, just like the grind was a pedal version of the Natas/Satan sound.

I thought the same thing that the 33 is what is built into the new meshuggah amp but somewhere Mike posted that all they use now is just their new signature amp with the 33 pedal and thats it. So if you are into meshuggah (which I am not) then that is their secret sauce. And I agree with you for certain applications the Grind is great but its not an "on all the time" pedal for me... Now my MXR 10 band, that stays on all the time ;)

Apparently Grind is a -3dB/octave HPF @ 1kHz, basically a fixed EQ pedal with a volume knob.

If the 33 is different to the Grind then it probably has a different EQ curve per artist request?

Grind has up to 20db boost as well with various fixed eq adjustments and the gradual roll off from 1kHz as you said.

Grind is the Natas girth and grind favourite settings. 33 is a boost designed to Fredrik's specs, with remote switch.

Nope definitely not built into the amps. It's crazy how crushing their tone is only being the guitar, pedal, amp and IR. Can't really go off their recordings because there are quite a few layers. The newest live clips should give you a good idea.

  at this being a benchmark for how we should KNOW it's good.

I believe the 33 is based off of the TC electronics integrated preamp pedal.

I like the video with Ola, but for me to order one, I'd need a complete play through. I really wanted to hear how the 33 sounds with the knob up 1/4 and 1/2 way. With that said, the Grind pedal was not my thing. Not versatile enough. I do like seeing Mike putting out cool products though...

I mean, Laugh at Meshuggah being a benchmark all you want, but they are inarguably one of the most influential metal bands in the last 25 years. Thousands of people have emulated their sound, a description of said sound has spawned an entire "subgenre" of bands.

I believe Jason Frankhouser is doing a playthrough soon, so maybe that will be more helpful to some. :)

I don't dispute that at all - it's truth is what I find amusing.

Really GASing for one of these but I just can't pull the trigger.

This was my assumption as well. I ordered a 33 to give it a whirl, and I have an old TC Electronic Integrated Preamp pedal to A/B it with, so I'll report back later.

I was the same... really wanted to see a more in depth demo of the 33, at least he could have started with the knob to the left and turned it more to right in between riffs

As for Ola demos in general, I'm really appreciative that he does demo a crap load of stuff that im interested in buying and hearing. I just wish he would switch up the riff types and tunings once in awhile. When ever I look up gear and insert "metal" in youtube's search its usually just Ola's vids popping up or some dude jamming in a basement or something with an unstable phone... Which is actually pretty cool too.

I'm sure there will be plenty of used ones floating around in about 2-3 months.

Have some videos coming from Jocke Skog, Jason Frankhouser, Brody Uttley (Rivers of Nihil), and POSSIBLY a couple more. :)

Cool. I trust your opinion and ear. ;)

Great. I wish more videos were out. I would have possibly bought one.

Well the Fortin grind has been out for how long and I have only seen one pop up on here and one on reverb so I am not sure you can make that kind of an assumption.

I would be interested in stacking the 33 as well to see how it blends. I am gonna pull the trigger on the next batch. I owned an earthquaker black eye boost and I wonder how these would compare.
