Made in a Taco joint.

blaw blaw blaw.

Yea or..nay

Seriously,
Is this a decent axe at that price point?
Lot of used Charvel offerings at half the money.

Fuck that .....GC had one in their special room behind glass with all the nice guitars.

Weren't they like 1500 when they were released before EVH passed away ?

I have one. Don't pay $2K for it -- you can get them new for about 75% of that. It's a fun toy. I had the bumblebee too. That one was cheaper and had a thicker neck on it. The necks are all over the place.

Get one of the non-frankie ones for half the price. Same guitar.

Might be parting with mine. It's a cool guitar but I have others that can do the same.

I have a case with mine so I'd probably look to get $1300. Haven't had it for a month and have played it maybe 2 hours tops.

Why do you say made in a taco joint?

They are really good guitars btw. I was surprised when I played one. It felt great and resonated really well too. The pickup is fantastic.

Because it's just a conversation

I totally didn't read the thread properly...

Also "taco joint" eso es muy racista

Disclaimer: I'm not mexican, but you are gonna get people going like that. Maybe that's the point. Mexican guitars I think are hit or miss but I'd think that the EVH line they'd have better quality control.

I like mine. I'm just clarifying what the OP meant by taco joint.

Thanks gawd I didnt say "washy clothesy" if it was made in china.

I bought a bare white/black and a black/yellow body from Stratosphere when they had a stack of them parted out. I got Musikraft to cobble up the necks with the correct, longer Wolfgang style heel to fit the stripe series body and then picked my own hardware and Jalen pickups. Both guitars turned out really nice - they play well and sound really good. Under a grand total investment in each one. The MK necks help a bunch, though - .81/.81 pro-mod back profile, compound radius, and 6100 stainless frets.

Wish they’d made a stripe series of the original Frankie when it had its vintage Strat style trem . I know they make one but it’s that 25K version.

What is the Pro Mod neck carve like as compared to some of the recent production model Charvels?

Musikraft’s ‘Pro-Mod’ is .81” at the 1st Fret and .81” at the 12th, so it doesn’t fill out as you move up the neck. It is a medium ‘C’ shape - not too round, and not ‘flattened out’ across the back like the super-slim late 80s early 90s overseas Charvels. For reference, the Ibanez Wizard is advertised as .75 at the first fret and .82 at the 12. The MK Pro-Mod is just as comfortable as a Wizard at the 12th with just a touch more material in open position. In my 20s I swore by those Wizard necks - now they just feel uncomfortably ‘flimsy’ below the 5th fret.
