For fuckin' around the house I'll stack a shitload; I threw this together because I got sick of pulling one or two off the shelf every couple days. This actually flipped right over and off the top of a 4x12 when I was organizing my studio, everything is disconnected now-

There's surprisingly not much for overlap here, but it was mainly put together just to try different combinations.

Heres another thing that I dont get with them....they are petrified of gain and they obsess over low gain tones.

As the great Gainfreak used to say, "I need robogain". And he's right!

The Bogner blue has been my go-to when amp-like crunch is needed out of a clean back line amp. It effectively adds a second channel to my silverface Fenders. I pretty much just leave it on and work the guitar volume to wind down.

Alternatively, this old Barber pedal has been a long time favorite too.

These both have built in additional boosts or channels though so I guess I’m cheating.

I could probably do everything with a OCD or Rockett Archer Icon.

KHDK Ghoulscreamer would be my choice because of versatility in the Tube Screamer family. VFE Standout for least color and focused control.

I guess it's really what you want to do. Tighten the bass. Punch the midrange. Increase gain. Change the attack. In most cases I find I can do these things with just the amp.
