Rigs evolve, pedals change ect, ive used the ZW-44 Wylde OD for 10 years and its a great pedal, one downside is its very noisey.

I got the OCD about 6 years ago and used it mainly on "low peak" as kind of a Classic Rock lower gain.

The OCD is a 20db boost and very transparent, very quiet & dynamic.

I recently plugged it back in and was blow away of the sound quality.

Keeping it in place for now.

IDK if pedals deteriorate over time but the Zakk pedal is sounding a little rough these days.

Are you running all of that in front of your Marshall?

I have a first generation OCD, at the time I ordered it, it took about 3 months to get, but it was well worth it absolutely my favorite.

Running a wet/dry rig.

Friedman amp on left is dry, DSL has time base & modulation in loop.

Wireless goes into wah which goes into Fuzz, OCD, EQ & ISP.

Then into Morley Tripler in and 3 outs to Friedman, Fender combo & DSL inputs.

Fender Ultimate Chorus on clean with DSL green Channel clean [for clean channel]

When play drive channels both amps sound wet without being mushy.

Sounds totally Killer.

The ocd and tube screamer are the pedals I pretty much always go back to. No other overdrives stick around as long

OCD is the only "overdrive" style pedal I own... I don't use it often, but when I do, it's because I like it

But seriously - it's the only OD I have... My baby is the CAL 4:23Pro clean boost. Love that thing (WE KNOW MO!! )

Fulltone make quality stuff... Glad you dig.

OCD's are killer! Love that pedal. I need to get another one. Nice to see someone talking about them, it seems like they kind of dropped off the radar.

Curious as why the OCD stands out for you guys over all the thousands of other boosts/overdrives.

I use an OCD for classic rock/crunch tones. It excels at that. It's a bit too much as an OD for an already saturated amp. I think classifying it as an OD is a tad misleading. It's more of a distortion pedal, IMHO. A really chunky, smooth distortion pedal.

Curious...what voltage and peak are you guys using? I'm liking 18v and LP these days. Lots of headroom and more transparent/clearer.

Does your mom complain when you crank that rig?
No i have my own house but i got a call from my City Alderman about this "obnoxiously loud guitar" ;)

Fortunately the Alderman and i are bike guys & friends.

** Voltage: i had ran it at 18 volts before but currently running 9v & loving it.

I've got an OCD (v.2 I think) and love it as a boost for my BE channel (better than HBE to my ears) or as an "in between" crunch sound on the BE100 clean channel. Killer pedal that doesn't kill off the bass as a boost like a TS will.

Doesn't that pedal compress the shit out of the sound into the Friedman modded JMP? Just curious why a clean boost is not the ticket here?

No not really, i rarely set the preamp gain on the amps past 1/2 way.

Usually 3 or 4.

It also depends on stage volume.

I also have a boost on my wah, the Tripler & the EQ.

Lots of options.

I don't always play with a boost it depends.

Right now i got the FRIEDMAN JMP on the HBE with the gain cut switch on & Preamp set at 50%.

The DSL is set on "lead one" like an 800 with the Preamp set at "3".

I was playing my buddys Custom Shop R0 LP yesterday that thing need no boost.

The OCD doesn't compress much at all. It's very open sounding.

Tone is in the towel. Don't forget to bring one!

I loved the v4 I had for a long time (my gateway into great od/distortion pedals) but after awhile it wasn't hanging with my BB or Eternity so I traded it away. Just a bit too scooped in the midrange. I think I would dig it more with my current amps but the Barber Direct Drive covers mostly the same ground for me.
