I have given a lot of thought to this lately. I think it's a mindset based around having money, luxuries, and comforts though the material realm is basically one giant illusion. Having material excess builds pride and a false sense of security. Every knee will bend before Christ, it's all a matter of time.

Definitely for some but it's also that some have not had real hardship in their lives in an adult kind of way.

As you get older and lose loved ones and friends, most realize what is important in life.
