Matchless Independence

Yes, your experiment with this amp ended very abruptly.  Is your buddy over there still using it?

I'm still digging it. It has some cool tones in it, but was definitely not designed for "Master Of Puppets".... ;)

Not really anything major for me, but mostly pickups. I usually like the guitars and amps I buy.

Duncan Screamin Demon
All PRS PUPs
Bad Horsie Wah - gave it to a good friend
DiMarzio AT-1
DiMarzio Steve's Special - terrible pickup
DiMarzio Evolution
VHT CL-50 - It it is a great amp, but I wanted something different so bought a used XTC 101B.

Mesa mk3, pos tone

Surprised to see this one!

On the other hand, I absolutely hated every Diezel I played.

So...as always...opinions are like assholes, everyone has them, some are just bigger than others.

Can be if you don't know how to dial them in.

I find it difficult to balance tones across channels with the earlier Mark series amps as well - especially when trying to get BOTH a good rhythm and lead tone in a MKIII or MKIV.

Maybe I just don't like Mark series tones?....

A Few things come to mind ! Rivera K tre, Mesa Mark 5 (sorry had a 4 and a 2C+, just muhc preferred those), had lots of cool Tylers but one in particular sucked ! Line 6 Variax, Elmwood Modena.

I like how much of a nerdy shit hole the mesa amplifier workshop is considering the quality of the end product.

Conversely, I imagine Pete Diezel's workshop to look like an immaculate amp surgery.

maybe not dialed in right......... hhhmmm
owned well over 20 boogies, since 1980 (1's, 2b's, 2c's, & rectros), had units serial #'s in double digits. Toured with them all but the mk3 did not come close, gone immediately. Had 2 amp racks of mesa's.
Have an bit of experience ;) .

How would you recommend to dial it in ?

:dunno: :worship: :worship: :worship:

It was a blanket statement. When I first got mine I was  WTF? I had to look online to find settings to head me in the right direction and still have labels on the amp to help dial it in on the fly.

will remember that one next time am mixing on my 96 channel ssl :D

Jackson pc1 and a suhr modern, I have played moderns that I liked, but the one I received I could not bond with it and put it up for sale the same day, and the pc1 I had must have been some sort of neck switch, the neck was like a baseball bat, all the other Jackson pc1's I played had much different necks similar to the san dimas.
