Issues I’ve had with gigs over the past few years:
1. Not many bands I actually want to see.
2. Most of those bands I do want to see are sold out before I even know about the show.
3. Those shows I do find out about and log in on time for usually have the best tickets sold out from under me (by bots, scalpers etc) or the site crashes due to web traffic.
4. Those tickets that are available at point of sale are expensive, which often puts off anyone else I’d want to go with (unless they’re really into the band).
5. Tickets on the used market are extortionate.
6. You have to book months and months in advance. Pinning people down gets difficult.
7. The gig is usually midweek, so people drop out due to work/family stuff.
8. I live in a big city - the venues are often on the other side of the city and me and my friends all live in the suburbs and beyond. Travel time / costs etc put people off.
