I think it sounds great - the tone as well as Oni.
Not Georges signature tone, but I really like it. Also not his most on fire/in the zone playing, but I still think it's solid and very good.

As far as backline - never believe what you see when it comes to George.. a bud of mine was his TM years ago, and I was behind the stacks for part of the show...

annnnnnnnnnd??

TSL, POD, or JCM800 with a boost?
none of the above..  ;)

So much WIN ... !

I like his LP sound better than ESP.

Much more full sounding and him soloing on the neck pup, Awesome.

Was that LP a R9 or R0 ?

I can tell they've toured last couple years, everyone's on their game.

None of the above. A student at the ESP luthier academy in Japan built it for George a long time ago. It says "George" in the normal Gibson logo place (obscured in the video by the tuner) and "Lynch Model" in the center of the headstock. It's a '59 repro. I worked on that guitar for him years ago on his last tour with Dokken.

Very cool. Sounds killer - how'd it play?

George's tone would have been better had he been sitting on Oni's shoulders. That's why he sounded better earlier in his career.

Recto, boosted Vox, trainwreck?

Sounded great to me. I thought George looked fine. So I don't get the comments about him looking disinterested. Perhaps he's using both amps. The last time I saw him in Houston he was running a Plexi and a Diezel. So who knows.

Sounded ok.
George seemed to be in his own little world. Not really connecting with the band....

Shocking considerable the many tight relationships he's had with this various lead singers.. yeah, I'm joking

George is not zoned out. He's concentrating on his playing and tone to attempt to satisfy the Internet forum critics, the undisputed arbiters who define the benchmark for taste, technique and acoustic candy.

Can you blame him after working with Don? And I think Yngwie Ham Steak sets the record for most lead singers used in a career.

No, don't blame him. LSD (not acid!) is real.

I really dig the tone he is pulling out of that LP. Is it just me? Or does George look like a fish out of water playing that thing.

I don't really recall. I did some electronic work on it. New neck pickup, IIRC. Borrowed the bass tech's tools and fixed it downstairs at Toad's Place. Matt M called me from ESP asking for a favor because George went on the road with his 19 year old son instead of a guitar tech. It was an interesting night.

thanks for posting that. I had heard about this project (I live in Albuquerque where Greg is from) but didn't know if it was still happening. I jammed with Greg a few times back in the day and he is a great singer.

I still love 90's Lynch Mob. The songwriting, George's playing and tone, and Oni and Robert Mason's vocals just kill. But to hear them playing those tunes these days live just doesn't sound the same. George obviously works his ass off these days. Listen to KXM for a good example of George's playing and songwriting for this decade - its really good, fresh sounding and Ray Luzier is a fu*king badass.

That sounds amazing. Tell me more about it. When will it be out? CD and DVD...?

Georg has a great run. Unbelievable output these days (quality and quantity).

Lynch tore it up on this. The SLO is his signature tone, IMHO. I thought it tore it up in the OP's original post. He doesn't move around a lot, but he just seems really focused on his playing. He might not have been feeling well either, who knows. Oni was bringing it in that performance. He sounded really good.
