Are these worth a look, or are there just too many other good super strats out there bearing other names?

My buddy is a dealer. I've played a few and they seem really well made, play great and look great. The pickups aren't the greatest in the ones that I've played but I think that when you order one you can choose the ones you want. IMHO the Charvels being offered now are a better choice.

I've played a bunch of GJ2's and really want to like them. They have great necks with great fretwork. I didn't like the Arate 5 star, which is like a soloist. The glendora and shredder are hit or miss. The Spirit of 79' was pretty awesome and I was tempted to buy it. I agree with both statements above. The in-house pickups really suck. I've had better pickups come stock in a $300 import guitar. Then there's the price. Between 2-5 G's for a basswood guitar, no maple top like an EVH or Suhr. The Concorde (RR V) cost nearly $4k and has the same construction and wood. IMO, their prices are double to three times of what their guitars are worth and should cost.
