Thought some might find this interesting...
I've been playing a lot of old Stones tunes recently (mostly Exile On Main Street stuff) and they use several open tunings in addition to standard, sometimes capo'd. What I've found is that when I'm sitting around playing this stuff, I hate that I can only play the tunes my guitar is currently tuned to. Or, I'll retune to say Open G and play something and then I want to play something that is in standard tuning, but instead, I just put the guitar away and get one that is in standard. It's just too much of a pain to keep retuning back and forth to different open and standard tunings when I want to sit and play.
This new TronicalTune Plus is perfect for being able to switch in just seconds (some great demos on YouTube), stores multiple open tunings and is perfect for what I want to do when I'm in the mood to play this stuff. Gonna put the system in a Tele I'm building for playing this kind of stuff... Supposed to be the next generation and an improvement over the Gibson e-tune that came out in 2013 (also made by the Tronical Tune guys...). Supposedly doesn't add any weight to the headstock...
Wouldn't put the system in my other guitars since those mostly stay in standard or 1/2 step down, but I'm psych'd to be able to switch tunings at will during a given playing session with the new Tele build...
Check it out (works on electric as well, of course
Will report back...
