Thought some might find this interesting...

I've been playing a lot of old Stones tunes recently (mostly Exile On Main Street stuff) and they use several open tunings in addition to standard, sometimes capo'd. What I've found is that when I'm sitting around playing this stuff, I hate that I can only play the tunes my guitar is currently tuned to. Or, I'll retune to say Open G and play something and then I want to play something that is in standard tuning, but instead, I just put the guitar away and get one that is in standard. It's just too much of a pain to keep retuning back and forth to different open and standard tunings when I want to sit and play.

This new TronicalTune Plus is perfect for being able to switch in just seconds (some great demos on YouTube), stores multiple open tunings and is perfect for what I want to do when I'm in the mood to play this stuff. Gonna put the system in a Tele I'm building for playing this kind of stuff... Supposed to be the next generation and an improvement over the Gibson e-tune that came out in 2013 (also made by the Tronical Tune guys...). Supposedly doesn't add any weight to the headstock...

Wouldn't put the system in my other guitars since those mostly stay in standard or 1/2 step down, but I'm psych'd to be able to switch tunings at will during a given playing session with the new Tele build...

Check it out (works on electric as well, of course):

Will report back...

I've been thinking about getting one for my Breedlove. I switch between lots of tunings, and I'm getting really tired of it. Standard, Drop D, Drop B, Open C, a few more...

Looking forward to your review!

Cool - I ordered mine directly from the manufacturer in Germany (no one stocks the one I needed in the states) and it shipped today - unbelievably, FedEx says I will receive it in SoCal Monday... What the hell kinda light speed shipping is that? If I order something from Arizona it takes three days...

I have one of these in a 2016 High Performance Les Paul and really enjoy it. Takes a little getting used to, and it's easy to forget how to use many of its features if you aren't using them regularly due to its wonky UI, but overall it's a really nice system that works well and makes tuning changes a breeze.

Good to hear!

I have one for my Gibson LP and for my Gibson acoustic. A bit expensive at about $200. It also has a bit of a learning curve to how to access all the banks. There's a trick to opening the other set of banks too. But once you figure that out, the Tronical is awesome. You can go from Standard tuning to drop C etc. in seconds. It also seems to hold in tune fairly well. Best of all, there is no alteration necessary. So if you are worried about your guitar losing value for its original parts or what not, you can take the Tronical out no problem!
