That combo was treble city for me.Mr. Willy":3tuoe8ef said:Anyone mixed G12T-75's with Greenbacks? Specs for mixing look good on paper. G12T-75 - 97 db, Greenback - 98 db.
I just pulled my GB's out because they had a thin top end and not thick enough lows. Their "tone" is awesome, I love the mids that they have. But they just aren't performing the way I want a speaker to perform right now.
Rogue, the ET and GB's did sound good together.
The mids were strong and present, right in the middle where you want them to be. The ET65's tight lowend meshed well with the somwhat loose GB lowend when pushed. While the relaxed highs of the ET65's evened out the brighter top end of the GB's.
In the end, the cab had lots of clear cutting crunch. Great for classic Marshall and hair metal tones. The combo just wasn't thick or deep enough sounding for me. A little too much midrange for my setup right now. But otherwise the mix of those two worked well.
