I think you can order them through Warwick dealers if I am not mistaken... I could be very wrong on this though...

Danabgoods used to be the distribution but thats years ago, i havent seen any framus dealers in a while. I bought my cobras from derekb at rocksolidamps but hes not selling amps these days.

Hopefully it drives the price back up on them to where it should be anyway!

I first went to the Warwick website http://www.warwickbass.com which then led me to the website http://shop.warwick.de/ in order to purchase a Framus head. The latter website showed the Cobra out of stock but the Dragon in stock. However, it looks like whatever Dragon head(s) are in stock might be overseas.
Incidentally, I came across this thread on SevenString.org http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/gear-equipment/70357-where-purchase-framus-cobras-us.html asking the same question back in 2008! Evidently, distribution is an ongoing issue for Warwick/Framus.
I wonder if all this has anything to do with reliability problems. I've seen a number of posts here and there over the last couple of years that are quite critical of Cobra/Dragon reliability. That would be quite unfortunate if true as I think these amps have a wonderfully aggressive and unique signature tone.

I really dont think there is a reliability problem with them. That all stemed from one post and got carried away. I have had three and still have one and never had any issues with any of them. It is one of my favs and will always be in my collection something about them that sound mean as hell once you get that pre amp cooking a bit.
I have opened all of them up and their fairly simple and the quality of the build seams pretty much on par ( Except for tolex)with most all high end amps except for my diezel that thing is a masterpiece of work inside out.

I think they are reliable, i owned 3 cobras and one of them had a problem but it was during shipping and the distribution sent me a new one and told me to send the old one back once the new one arrived. They also paid the shipping both ways for me, i didnt bother going thru my dealer and went to the distributor which was danabgoods at the time, they was awsome. Its too bad its so hard to get a cobra now. Its a great sounding amp with the right speakers and pickups.

Mine survived a massive fire in the warehouse my studio/race shop was in at the time... There was melted stuff all around my amp from the heat (the fire was in the adjacent shop. Only thing that saved me from fire or water damage was 2 layers of fire rated drywall. I'd say they are built pretty well haha
