On my 2nd VH4.
On its own it isn't a juicy or particularly distinguishable amp imo. It's pretty dry and unforgiving and really fucking loud. I can see why people aren't immediately blown away by it. Especially when they see the price tag.
It's forte and value is its sonic balance and build quality imo. It brings out the best in what you throw at it and doesn't colour it.
I rarely play mine without active fx, comp or ODs.
