Hermansson 5GS Marshall x Wizard MCII

For me it's the other way around, getting a Hermansson would be significantly cheaper, still not cheap though. I have MTL MKII which I really like but miss the Marshall sag and mids sometimes. Rhythm channel is very reminiscent of a JMP, I really like it and find another amp that does the thing better. Ground Zero Helion III seems very tempting as well (not sure about how much does it cost though).
Just to make your pocket more empty, I sold my MTL for my Hellion lol.

At the end of the day I think they're all fantastic amps and it's more just about finding the one with the right voicing since they all have gobs of gain and punch.

Well if I get a Helion III and like it more, will sell my MTL MKII for sure. For now I just cannot think of selling it; it's the best amp I have ever played and has so many tonal options. I do not play downtuned modern metal (Drop C lowest) so not sure about Hermansson, seems to be more suitable for extended settings, at least in the Youtube demos.

I tend to use standard or drop d with my Hermansson, and have never gone lower than drop c.

Not really a problem at all, again just a question of what voicing are you after.

I am really considering to buy a Hermansson. How do you compare them with Wizards overall? My ideal next amp would be Wizard W800 or Rock Standard but cannot justify buying them new. Gettin a Hermansson is way easier / affordable for me
Compare them here. Hermansson Marshalls are definitely not just for extended range and covers all ground. Hermansson Mesas are more for the Meshuggah 7/8 string territory. If you already have the MTL then you are good to go tbh. At this level we are basically debating slight different flavors of things.

Man this Hell Razor sounds so good here! I also watched your recent MTL MKII vs Hell Razor video, they sound more similar than different to be honest. Still, shocked how much punch the HR carries. I hope I will have a chance to try one someday. Do you have any tips for MTL to make it sound closer to HR?
