History/Stories behind a few of your current amps

I have one amp with a cool story... it is a 76 JMP non master 50 watt.

I was in L.A. a couple years back, phone rings in my hotel room, it is my old room mate who is down in the hotel bar...says "Dude get down to the bar now!" So I am thinking who's in the bar? Billy Gibbons? Sasha Grey?

I walk in the bar and there is a Marshall sitting in the corner, at first I didn't think much of it because it is a hotel that caters to musicians and has a recording studio in it. Then I looked again.... wait a minute I know that amp!

I asked my bro why do you have your marshall with you?

He said " I have been moving this amp around for the last 20 plus years and haven't used it once, so now it is your problem!"

I was blown away, he doesn't really play anymore and just gave me the amp! So I went straight downstairs to the studio and arranged for the staff to ship it home to me.

I have a Peavey classic 30 Head that I got for free. It started life as a combo. A guy my dad works with broke up with his girlfriend so she proceeded to beat the shit out of his amp with a hammer. He figured it was toast and gave it to my dad. We tested it out and it turns out the only thing wrong with it was the speaker was busted and the cab was beat to pieces. So, he made a head out of it and gave it to me. My son has it now. Best free amp ever.

The girlfriend was nice to the amp, in comparison to what my Friend's ex girlfriend did to his. He had a Marshall TSL halfstack and she torched it in a Bon fire. Needless to say it was toast. Some TSL haters will say it was good, but he suffered with a Line6 Flextone1 for a good while after that.
