Running it into my Egnater MOD 100 loaded with SED 34's and into my Super lead with GE 6550's and the mako plex and the dorado both sound incredible at bedroom levels. Made my 5150 III sound weak! Can't wait to move some air tomorrow with her!

This preamp is about to send at least one of my coveted amps packing! :scared:

I cant believe how awesome it is, how much ground it covers, the fact that it covers all that ground very well not just "passable" and the insanely killer price point!

The singular gripe i have is its gargantuan size!

All the good reviews have me seriously wanting to try one of these.

With an Axe Fx for fx, Dunlop rack wah and Black CAE line mixer would be 12 spaces of Black Doom!

No time with it yet. The fricken masters are so picky. I mean you just crack it and it's fricken loud. Have to wait till today.

Nah, you don't want to do that. Instead, you wanna sell me that Classic for $800......given the lousy condition its in.....

You are thinkin the way I am! I am SERIOUSLY gassing for a Mak4 with a 2150. I had 2 2150's a while ago and regret selling them. They killed!

That will NOT replace my Meathead, as nothing ever will but this is a cool secondary rig I could live with!

Cheers!

Gotta admit - I'm on a total surf trip in paradise right now, and I know my mountain home town is getting puked on and the notion of going back is not feeling like a goood idea (even though I've got a ways to go before I GET back...). But the thought of my soon-arriving Mak 4 and Fryette 2:90:2 and Deliverance is making me kinda excited to get home :D

I am STOKED!!!!!!!!!! :rawk:

I've been GASing for one of these since the first clips popped up here at RT. If anyone wants to trade for a sweet Single Rectifier, hit me up! As much as I love my Rec, I need more versitility.

Great minds...

keep waiting for the Meathead to show up at the shop to put it through the paces. Great gear out there right now.

Ran it tonight with my MOD 100 loaded with 34s and 6550. Massive!
Dorado is really cool for the compressed gained out tone that still is percussive and articulate.

Mako plex is so refined, percussive and articulate. I mean you get the plexi clink in your playing. What we all want..that VH clink!

Thanks a lot (sarcasm alert), the gas is severe now. Couple of questions for you. I don't see an effects loop on it on the Mako website but in one of the demo clips the guy says he is running some effects in the loop. Is there a loop or not? If not can you run the preamp output to an effects unit and the send from the effect unit to the power amp? That is essentially the same thing right? Sorry for the noob question. Seriously considering ordering one.

The preamp does not have an effects loop. Yes, You can run effects in between the preamp and power amp.

That's the only thing that holds me back from getting one, no loop.

Oh yeah, and being flat fucking broke. That too.
