He doesn't give a shit about working Americans unless they have millions in their bank accounts to give to him.
I don't really understand this POV. Trump already has all the money he could need for the rest of his life. There's no reason for him to put himself in this position just to skim a little off the top. He could be sitting at Mar-a-Lago playing golf and sipping Mai-Tais without having to deal with all the bullcrap that's been and being thrown at him and be all the better for it.

I do think he's doing it in part for selfish reasons, but it has nothing to do with money. I believe he's wanting to cement his legacy with one final accomplishment of bolstering the economy and bringing the US back to its former glory. You don't do that by catering to a few wealthy people, stealing from the taxpayer, and fucking over & pissing off the working class.

You should listen to the Tucker/Bessent interview.

Let this sink in to the Woke Libs........... should sit well....... Alexander Hamilton was the OG Tariff President...... and Trump is very Hamiltonesque ^_^

History repeats itself again.

Clinton was the last democrat who didn’t completely fuck the economy up.
Clinton ran a surplus but he enacted NAFTA and other neoliberal globalist policies that have directly lead to where we find ourselves today. When Bessent is talking about structural issues in the economy going back 30 years, he's talking about changes that really took off under Clinton.

I’m not claiming he was fiscally conservative. I’m just saying the last time a democrat was in office and the economy didn’t tank was his term.

Yeah I don't know whether he was fiscally conservative, but he was at least fiscally responsible (By that metric anyways). He was the last president to run a surplus for his term. Bush's first year 2001 was the last year the country ran a surplus.

LOL. My portfolio is up 5.89% YTD. Sounds like you need an investment advisor.

It's not even about the $$ amount. I saw a few years of gains burn up over a few days due to what seems like som pet Gilded Age economic theory being implemented in a totally chaotic way. Same thing happened to my elderly parent who doesn't have years to wait for recovery. I'm glad you are up, good for you.

If you held your stocks through the volatility you didn't.

See above. But yes, your point is fair. It will come back eventually. It's also fair to criticize the decisions that Trump is making regarding his economic policies.

You should listen to the Tucker/Bessent interview.

Is a news personality and a hedge fund manager the right source to get expert opinions? I think actual economists would be much better.

Sure it's fair. I myself think he approached the tariff matter recklessly and I also think he needlessly introduced volatility and uncertainty into the financial markets. I think it was clear that he backpedaled as well, although some insist it was all part of a master plan.

Regarding Bessent, I would listen to him at least in as much as he is the Treasury Secretary and provides a justification and rationale for the tariffs. In particular he admits that the status quo is not working for the majority of Americans, and outlines the steps the Trump admin is taking to address the economic issues at hand. Maybe it's a charade and his plan will do the opposite. You probably won't find many people more cynical than me, but I take him at his word. I also take RFK at his word, but he is doing fuck all to address the issues he 'ran' on. Maybe he's up against forces he can't beat, maybe it's all a charade. Who knows.

Okay, I will check out Bessent to keep an open mind. But, RFK is a friggin' crackpot through and through.

You should check out RFK with an open mind as well!

Nope. RFK has a long history of propagating debunked theories concerning vaccines and HIV/AIDS. He is not credible, nor an expert. I personally know an actual expert in Immunology who spent his career studying HIV and AIDS. RFK is a crackpot.

Sort of like the Insane Far Left and their BS in the Pandemic...... and how it was mishandled...... makes sense.

We now know due to NIH studies that lockdowns and quarantines wouldn't have changed the number of deaths or infected on average...... yet that is what stupid dipshit Pink Pussy Hat asshats did in guiding the conversation that lead to those decisions being made.......

Not sure if you have amnesia or where you were but it was a pretty big deal locking down the whole fucking country.

The results are uneducated children with a lower education than any generation before them since the 70s..... inflation and cost of living increases along with price of food increases for most average Americans and the average Americans standard of living left in shambles with a harder life since the end of WWll.

That's not me or RFK or some random partisan nut on the internet saying so..... that is the fucking NIH/National Health Institute buddy :dunno:

None of this nonsense refutes what I said about RFK.

1 - He is not a doctor nor medical expert. He has no formal training in medicine.
2 - He has no credible expertise or experience in making executive decisions regarding health.
3 - He has promoted ideas and theories that have been widely discredited by the medical and scientific communities. Specifically regarding vaccines.

The fact that Trump put RFK in place as HSS shows how fundamentally unserious he is about the health of Americans. His administration is cutting NIH funding.

Right on well......

Whatever you have to say about RFK....... at least he wasn't the one advocating the country be shutdown under quarantine which again had little to no impact on the number of deaths or infected by Covid19 per the NIH/National Health Institute......

As said do you have amnesia and what's up with all this fake outrage over RFK when these other fucks on the Far Left pretty much led the country to ruin with mishandling Covid19 and quarantines...... if the crime here is politicizing science/medicine then look no further than to those on the Far Left and how they politicized and mishandled Covid19 for a politcal power grab and ruined the country in the process :dunno:

@SatanicPanic in fact all the "experts", the medical professionals and those on the Insane Far Left were the ones that showed they have absolutely 0 concern for real/actual health, medicine or science in their mishandling of Covid19 with lockdowns and quarantines......

I mean unless you've had your head stuck up under your ass for the past 4 years......

If you actually care about medicine, health or science and those who politicize it for power...... I mean jeez maybe you should be angry but with those in the Far Left because that is exactly what they did and the real damage they did to the country far outweighs anything the President has done or RFK or anyone before them short of The Great Depression or anytime since WWll.

Maybe your anger should be better placed in those who destroyed the country in the Insane Far Left vs President Trump and those actually restoring the country vs destroying it like the Biden Administration did over the past 4 years.

The medical establishment entirely discredited themselves over the pandemic. They proved themselves to be nothing more than shills for big pharma and even more nefarious cabals. It wasn't just the lockdowns, it was everything -- the unsafe and ineffective vaccines, the "social distance", the masks, the ventilators, the anti-repurposed drug stance... They basically did the opposite of what every common person knows would keep the country safe and healthy -- fresh air, exercise, sun exposure, eating well, keeping stress at bay, minimizing any disruption to daily life of the young and healthy... The "Health experts" that lead the country through Covid were either incompetent or criminal.
