How long can you make it through this song?

Back when this crap happened the other guitar player I was working with other band he was in did a show opening for them.

Next thing I know he trying to create a mix of Nickel Back and Disturbed. Drugs can definitely be dangerous. I recommend moderation in any exposure to this type of music.

I like Disturbed.

If I got the gig and they're paying me.. I'd play an entire set of just this song with an encore.

Didn't even click play. I can't stand Nickelback. The sad part is they have more talent than their bro rock songs let on. I've heard a bad ass cover of Seek and Destroy they did playing live. They choose to write/play the most generic music ever. On the flip side I can't lay too much blame on them for that. If I had piles of cash thrown at me to play bland music I'd probably take it too.

Randy Staub is the man responsible for the mix, and is a fukking legend.
He's pretty much the Canadian version of Don Landee. Check out his discogs.
I know Nickelback gets a lot of hate, but you mofos's all gotta remember this is the Entertainment business, and not a talent contest.
If some lame ass band sells 12 million copies cause people dig their music, isn't that the name of the game?
If you cant get a gig, or a record deal, maybe you just ain't playin' what people want to hear.

You nailed exactly how I feel about Nickelback. I feel like if they just wrote songs in a room together, they would probably come up with some good stuff. It almost seems like they are being led by other forces that create perfectly polished songs. Like you said though, hard to not want to make that money.

I’ve always hated their music but their documentary is actually quite good and I grew to respect them at least. They put in the miles. They actually want to play this music. It’s not just a cold cash grab.

Devin Townsend sums it up quite well here-

That IS a pretty funny sentiment, the idea of Kroeger penning these songs with a smirk on his face like "Yeah that's right, here comes another hit that's going to make me millions while annoying the fuck out of people....", that's just a byproduct of what happens when he writes music. Maybe if the dude had absolute control over radio stations the whole 'secret attack hit songs' angle would work.
