I basically did that with a twin live for a couple years. A lot of nights I didn't get to crank it to my satisfaction and had to work my technique to pull it off. It does the chops good to play straight in but it's nice to get that extra bit of sustain from a big clean amp like that when there are restrictions on dB. Even now with no dB restriction gigs I like that extra juice, adjusted to taste with my guitars volume control.
