Sorry to hear that, man. 😩 Oh the possibilities for a new interesting job! 🙏

Sucks to hear. I actually worked in a Rexroth hydraulic manufacturing plant for over a decade, left because they were outsourcing everything they could to Mexico.

Sorry to hear this...as they say, everything happens for a reason...better things on the horizon!

It's just a shit time out there. Inflation is still terrible, economy sucks, interest rates still suck....ugh.
Nothing good it seems.

Sorry to hear.

If you have a successful sales track record, it may not hurt to look at other sales positions in similar, related industries, or other industries. though some can be or require high specialization and knowledge.

In tech sales where I was for example, (computer software and hardware) most sales people have tech backgrounds, but not specific product area expertise with some exceptions. Sales are often paired with tech specialists who know the product, the competitive landscape, SWOT, etc.

Tech sales was all about relationships, responsiveness, consistency, trust; technical depth and knowledge is left to the real experts.

just some alternatives that might be options to consider.

Good luck.
It's funny you say that because I was going to suggest the same thing. Managing, working with people, etc can be used in many ways.

I know Rexroth well. Big player in the industry for years.

Been there. A couple of times actually. Believe it or not it really did always lead to a better job. Sometimes had to take a not great job in the meantime, but I hope you end up in something better next and something good actually comes from it.

Sorry to hear that brother. They've been axing mfkers at my job lately too... hang in there man.

Sorry to hear about it. We're in the same boat.

In my case, I had filed a whistleblowing complaint about my immediate supervisor and an underling coochie cooing and conspiring at my expense.

No investigation was made, instead I was threatened with punitive action.

10 years at the gulag, and I told myself it's not worth it and resigned.

Hopefully something or the other comes my way, but as each day passes, it becomes harder. This is especially true if you are in a middle management position, given that AI is going to impact those jobs the most.

Not a popular opinion around here, but the good lord has a plan. Doesn’t always make sense at the time, but in retrospect it will. Pull your shit together, get out there and crush the job search process. You can end up better than you started…

That sucks.

If you’re in sales, maybe look at the material handling industry.

We are busier than ever so busy, I barely get to play guitar lately.

I consider myself fortunate because when I lost my job in 2005 it took me many years to get back on track.

I was teaching guitar, building some guitars, and working part-time as a carpenter before I got a good career going again.

I got laid off twice in 2024. Once as Head of Quality Control for a company, then Head of a Violin Luthier shop. Job market is abysmal, couldn't grab anything I was qualified for. Took a job through some connections that pay the bills. Hardest thing for me was swallowing my pride and asking for help, reaching out to a lot of people I lost touch with or though we weren't close anymore. Indeed is a shitshow and a number game, keep putting in for anything, but exhaust your friends/family/connections.

Good luck brother, you got this.
