I'm not going to dig in too deep as I'm a bald, 40-something with two hernia surgeries and marital problems and have enough crap to deal with. However, I will say that as much as it is BS that these people rip people off, I'm more annoyed that these companies that facilitate online purchases, totally lose their balls when something goes wrong. When someone rips you off, it is like you don't have the backing of the company you are giving a cut to for years and years.

Nobody wants to work hard anymore. Everyone wants "free" and a handout.

No apparent shipping damage. I think the transformer got like that because he took out the chassis and carried it by the transformer. It's really all minor, but man does it piss me off. As for the foot switch, I have no idea what that funk is at the bottom of the button. Bogner said nothing appears to be changed, but that there might have been an attempted mod, so they want a couple of angles to view the capacitors, etc.
I've seen transformer damage like that from shipping where there was no damage to the packaging. It happens and has happened to stuff I've shipped and things shipped to me with similar thin transformer mounts. You can't rule out the bent transformer or chassis from shipping damage regardless of how the packaging looks in my experience.

Been watching. What a fucking scumbag.

Hope he gets his, and glad you got your amp back mang.

Carrying by the Transformer will not bend it like that. That was from a blunt fall, I've carried chassis hundreds of times by the Transformers it will not do this. However I've seen this happen from shipping or a drop of the head on one end many times. I think you are getting too worked up from this experience. It's a shitty experience none the less, however you got the amp back in pretty decent condition, cut your losses, and count your blessings, it's not worth punishing yourself over it at this point. Because no matter how pissed off you are at this experience this asshole will feel no repercussion, better to just move on, live and learn.

really sucks that this happened but it could have been way worse. live and learn.

i would get an estimate from bogner to repair it and file a shipping claim. i had a sig x get completely ruined in shipping and they paid out when i got an estimate from fryette.

Shipping claims must be initiated by the sender. No way this dick bag is going to help.

This is what it looks like happened:
Buyer had no intention of ever keeping the amp.
He needed something for a couple gigs.
He "bought" the amp and gigged it.
During the gigs he stomped on the footswitch many times and with vigor which caused the rubber on the bottom to peel and the switch itself to migrate.
He's an asshole and mishandled the amp during these gigs which caused the crack in the plexi and the transformer mounts to bend.

Having dealt with far too many of these types count your blessings you got your amp back and it's basically intact.

Anyone consider, perhaps he already owns a Helios? Did some swapping of the heavily used Helios for some of the parts of the gently used Helios? Just a thought.

Wow! Makes me not want to sell shit anymore. Sorry that happened I'd be in flames also.
People are people and there's a lot of assholes out there. Makes me feel for ya. What a crazy transaction.

Bogner is taking a look at things. It's possible that Reverb insurance may cover the damage, but I'm not going to get my hopes up because none of this would have happened if someone would have listened to me in the first place. Either way, at least Reverb kicked that bum out and he's no longer a seller there, so they seem to care more than eBay would.

I'll keep you guys updated when I get something conclusive.

Shit, I just got a bill from Reverb. I guess they still charge you even if you have to give a full refund. Another $54 in the hole, damn.

That's fucked.

I would hope a simple phone call to their customer service and a review of the case would dismiss that sales charge. Otherwise what a bunch of fucken assholes.

What was the charge for? I thought a refund implied no sale had taken place.

???I've had a few things that I had for sale there, and decided to keep. They never charged me anything. I'd imagine since your 'sale' never happened they'd refund that to you. Maybe it's just an automatic thing in their system. Give them a call. I'd bet you'll get it back. I mean, if you relist it and it sells, what, you have to pay twice??

Bullshit.

I don't know. It could be that the invoice was processed before the refund, but you would think that Reverb's system wouldn't triggers an invoice for a sale that was cancelled.

This thread reminds me why I only use forums to trade and sell. Less potential buyers but also way less dickheads.
