The only uncle Ted I know is Ted Kaczynski
Seems like it to me. Again, I know most won't care. But I hate that crap.Is this a Ted Nugent reference or something?
He also made a comment in one of his videos describing a tone as “your racist uncle” tone. So like, he’s saying Uncle Ted is a racist. I realize that won’t bother many folks, but it bothers me.
Obvious libtard and that alone is enough to disregard everything he says.
I remember it too. If I'm remembering the right video I think he was referencing TGP Tan Pants or boomer bends type tone. Either way not exactly a good thing to say; the joke didn't really hit the way he intended IMO.I do remember that "racist uncle" comment, but never figured out what band he was referring to.
Really? I didn't think Kyle was a left-leaner, but maybe I am wrong. Thought he was independent if anything. I do remember that "racist uncle" comment, but never figured out what band he was referring to.
Yeah, I was kinda surprised. I’ve never played an Omega in person but I have heard lots of clips where the amp sounded killer. I would still like to play one myself someday. The Omega was my favorite. But I'm biased since I have one. It's gotta be in the top 3 amps I've ever played. Looking at his settings, I can see why he's not getting the best sound out of it though. He's running it in the crunch/low gain mode, with the Level higher than Master. It sounds much better when the Master is set higher than Level. The XXX was the worst of the bunch for me and I also hate that amp in general.
Totally agree. I’ve had lots of amps and I’m able to make them all sound at least 90% similar recorded. I have probably 100 YT videos playing different amps or pedals and I get them to sound 90% the same. I always come back to my VTM. And if I’m playing something different, I set it to sound like my VTM.most people put way too much energy and effort into finding "the one" when 99% of most amps can sound the same. And that sound is absolutely good enough. People in this thread are saying how Amp X sounded so bad or Amp Y sounded so much better than the others. When in reality, they all sounded about the same. Even the XXX, which I hate, if I closed my eyes and randomly clicked somewhere in the video... I'd have no idea what amp it was. Could even be the XXX and I would go... hmmm yeah... sounds good.
Maybe it was just like, you know, a joke... and not some deeper insight into his political ideology or world view.
I absolutely agree. Any of the amps i had could have worked. But i kept searching til i found one i could play every day and love. The wizard was close, but i never could dial out this grating high end, and it kind of killed my ears since i play really loudlol I didn't realize how much hate people have for him. My takeaway from the video is that, while yes it's boosted, most people put way too much energy and effort into finding "the one" when 99% of most amps can sound the same. And that sound is absolutely good enough. People in this thread are saying how Amp X sounded so bad or Amp Y sounded so much better than the others. When in reality, they all sounded about the same. The thing is it works really well in a large enough space. When i would play at Matt's, his room was big enough and carpeted, so it would not kill the ears. That's kind of what I hear in most Wizard clips. Owners who spend their hard earned money on them describe this as, "clarity" and "note separation". But to me, it sounds strident and harsh. I think part of it is the type of signal caps Wizard uses, part of it is the specific type of diode clipping, and the third part is just how the amps are intentionally voiced. I played two in person, back to back. The Hell Razor and the MTL II. They sounded like decent high-gain amps. Nothing really blew me away. And yes, they were quite bright and strident sounding.
Can you EQ that out? Yes.
Do I want to pay $8,000 for one? No.
I think even using the word "racist" gives it away, but you're right. I shouldn't care.Maybe it was just like, you know, a joke... and not some deeper insight into his political ideology or world view.
It should bother you. Just because he’s a pants shitting, draft dodging pedo, that doesn’t necessarily make him a racist. He also made a comment in one of his videos describing a tone as “your racist uncle” tone. He is a leftist. I used to follow him on facebook until he went on some bizarre rant.Really? I didn't think Kyle was a left-leaner, but maybe I am wrong. Thought he was independent if anything. I do remember that "racist uncle" comment, but never figured out what band he was referring to.
Another thing they ought to do with this type of shoot out is use a combination of mics that covers the whole frequency spectrum. More variances probably lie outside of what a 57 is sensitive to so that could help them poke out a little. But I agree no boost and they still will sound very similar through the same cab and speakers.
Maybe the way to go is to buy a bunch of cabs instead
Yeah Ola's vids are a good example. Same on the room mic but I still want bothI prefer the room audio over close mic. But I digress...
Ola does the "In the Room" videos where he puts a bunch of different mics on the cab and in the room and then cycles between each one. That's about the closest I can think of to what you're describing. And same thing with those—I prefer the room audio over the close mic.
Yes I agree, Mark IV's are very tight without a boost. If you really need to though, back the treble down to about 5 and it becomes doable, but doesn't really sound better than the amp without a boost and the treble control around 8 or so.A Mark IV on lead channel is literally the last amp on the planet that should be boosted.
