I hate to say it but I think Covid is to blame for a lot of this. There are some components that have very few suppliers like tubes and transformers and unfortunately some really good companies have went under. Kinda curious to see how Mercury Magnetics is going to go with a man down.

I can definitely see how supply-chain issues and staff shortages due to COVID quarantine and whatnot have affected many areas.

Food production, harvesting, processing, warehousing / wholesaling and delivery. That affects supermarket, restaurant and take-away prices.

Electronic-parts production and supply. On and on it goes...
Ah you beat me to it and put it better.

I totally agree that EVH are a lot of bang for the buck even with the increases.

Well that's maybe a good reason IF it wasn't world wide. We aren't the only ones seeing prices going up.
No need to obfuscate the blame, if it were some other person in the WH, I am sure you wouldn't.

I just about only buy used gear. But most EVH gear is sold by retailers who offer free shipping. Well, we all know it's not really free. It's built into the price. And every single piece of EVH gear and every single component inside of that gear gets to its destination via diesel-powered boats and trucks. Diesel goes up, everything it delivers goes up. And that won't change anytime soon.

Everyone's gone up. It's not an EVH-only issue here.

My biggest gripe is how fucked up the prices are on used gear. It's really gotten worse in the past 2-3 months.

I'm a trucker who is getting a big pay raise because experienced drivers are worth it.
It's YOUR fault everything is getting more expensive.
Stop buying stuff and I won't have to bring it to you.
Problem solved.
Up next...I solve global warming by burping instead of farting.

Why? It's usually a percentage of the new price and the new prices are skyrocketing. In fact, I have to wonder who's paying some of these new prices. I can't find a used DSL40C for close to the $399 I paid for a new one when Sweetwater was blowing them out with free shipping and before there was sales tax on Internet purchases. So it's gonna trickle down to the used market too.

Inflation is the price we pay for a hot economy. The elites benefit while the plebs starve.
