There are small set screws in inside the studs. You need to back those out in order to lower the action. If the set screws are tightened down and you try to lower the studs, something is going to strip out and you will be very very sad.
Oh man that is sweet! The grain streaks are killer.MrDowntown":2jyboh4v said:So far I like it ...only a few minutes last night with it. But very chimey, resonant guitar.
This guitar is a first for me. First Ibanez, first rosewood board, and first bridge like this.... I need to watch a tutorial on how these should be set up. The action is a little high, and the bridge as currently arranged is tilted/up a little in the rear, you may be able to see it in the photo attached. I’m guessing that ain’t quite right.
All in all though, absolutely gorgeous guitar!

If you have about 30 minutes, watch this video. It covers how to set up Floyd type trems, specifically the Ibanez Edge trem. I set up tons of Floyds trems, and this is the exact way I do it. It's really worth a watch.

Good info. Thanks.
Congrats!!! Killer looking guitar and with the right pickups, a tone monster (I have the exact same model lol). The trem setup process may seem like a hassle at first but after a few years it will feel like second nature to swap strings, etc. HNGD!MrDowntown":34vqgp35 said:So far I like it ...only a few minutes last night with it. Thanks. I remember not minding the stock Dimarzio's at all but what fun is that haha? Really, I just happen to have box of spare pickups to mess with so I tried a few and ended up loving the "Transition" in the bridge and a good old "PAF Pro" in the neck. Those can be heard in this clip where I used that RG for the majority of my little three stooges tribute thing.MrDowntown":3r0mwfs0 said:thanks Crunchity...your axe is a LOOKER as well.
what pickup does yours have? just curious...
i'm not opposed or offended (just yet) to the Tone Zone/Air Norton combo...
Ha! Nice one Crunchity.Crunchity":17944rmh said:

I had a Jem and to me it just sounded thin.Even when using the humbucker it almost sounded like a single coil?
