Yeah that is lame, just remember ... I agree with you .... BUT ... to play devils advocate
If you want to make yt a career you have to cater to the algorithm and have content on deck to ride the wave if you start getting views. So I think getting the perfect take vs a comped version means that the honest guys get hosed because outputting high-quality one takes is extremely hard to do consistently. It just takes to much time and whatever the audience is that likes this responds to this 'perfect' take type of content.
I understand this and have had guys I respect put it out there from the get go that they are fixing things here and there for the videos, thats fine. Devils advocate aside though, I don't like it and its cheesy. Yes I consider it dishonest and fraudulent to claim its live and it pisses me off too because I see many actual musicians that don't play the game still struggling because they are serving the music and not the algorithm.
